08- dancing in the dark

After sitting in silence for a while Oliver suggested that we go eat dinner. So we packed up the car with baby matt and we were off to my favorite diner.

I made matt a bottle before we went inside because well, babies gotta eat too. Oliver carried the car seat in and I carried the bottle. We got our booth and sat in it, putting matt on my side. I took him out and gave him his bottle.

After a while the waitress came, she happened to be one of my high school enemies. "hi, what can I get you" she smile and giggled looking down at the baby. Oliver ordered his food and I ordered mine while leaving the booth to put our food in she ran her hand down olivers shoulder.

"um excuse me waitress" I smiled tightly
"what" she basically growled.
"please refrain from putting your hands on my fiance, thanks" I smiled with my head cocked.
She just walked off without a word.

I looked at Oliver who was smiling wide.
"fiance huh?"
"shut up" I grumbled.
"you're cute when you're jealous"
I just rolled my eyes at him.

After we are we headed home it was dark once we got home, I laid Matt down and I went downstairs where Oliver was.

It was dark and there were few candles lit. Making the room give off a warm glow. Music started to play in the background.

I smiled as Oliver took my hand and guided me into a slow dance pulling me close. Humming along to the song we danced in the dark.

I laid my head on his chest and savored the moment I wanted this to last forever. I never knew loving someone would be this easy, I've always known for love to be hard, heartbreaking. I grabbed my Polaroid off the table a took a photo of Oliver standing in the living room mid-laugh surrounded by the candles.

I grabbed his hand and led him downstairs to the room of my best memories I took a piece of tape and a sharpie " I love you Oliver" I wrote on the bottom of the photo and taped it to the wall.

"I love you addi" he smiles pulling me close by the waste.

"I love you Olly" I smile lacing my fingers behind his neck.

He glanced down at my lips then back to my eyes. I knew what he was thinking. I got on my tiptoes and closed the space between us, I kiss Oliver with all I had in me. A familiar feeling of warmth and electricity ran through my body making my brain weary and my legs weak.

Later on into the night me and Oliver parted way into our rooms with a smile goodnight kiss on the cheek, and I went on to write:

"Oliver wasn't sure how many hours they sat on the bench, in complete comfortable silence. He liked it, he liked listening to their matching heartbeats. Their love grew stronger than just the dreams it became something they were more familiar with, something like a walk in the park."
