Dear future soulmate,

I haven't found you yet,
but I think that's okay.
I've found pieces of you wrapped up in others.                                                                                                        I found a little bit of you in a laugh,                                                                                                                              the one that still makes me smile years later.
I found a little bit of you
in the smile she makes at the ground
when she's embarrassed,
and in the way he
always high faves me
in the hallway.
I've found pieces of you in myself too,                                                                                                              when people talk
and I'm always listening.
I've found you in the kind of
hugs he gives when i'm sad
and its all elbows and necks,                                                                                                                                        or in a container of brownies
shared with them over an outdated movie.
Maybe finding a soulmate
is an arbitrary thing.                                                                                           Maybe I'll never really find
the whole you,
only piece of you in others.                                                But, God, if I do... I already love you.
