Lie For Me (2)

I giggled as I stood against the wall with my arms around Nate's neck, his lips were on top of mine. So far, we weren't doing a very good job at making the "relationship" private. He wasn't exactly ready to jump into another relationship after his failed one, and I was dying to have a relationship with the one I wanted the most but I understood him enough to respect his choices.

"I don't think kissing in the middle of a busy New York streets is the way to go, Nate," I laughed, breaking away from the kiss. My eyes never left his.

He chuckled as well, rolling his eyes, "I know but everyone we know is on vacation at the moment. So we don't have to worry about all that." He declared.

"Not my brother. I don't think he has any plans in going away for vacation, he probably is at the loft right now trying to find something to write about," I revealed.

Furrowing his brows, he said, "Well you must have heard wrong, because according to Gossip Girl he was seen at the airport like two days ago, apparently he was chasing after Serena." He told.

I had a stern look on my face, "Are you stalking your ex girlfriend, Nate? I thought we promise each other that we would stay off Gossip Girl?" Frowning, pouting my lips like a jealous girlfriend.

"Okay so starting now we won't check Gossip Girl." He stated, a grin was still plastered on his face.

Throwing my head back, not being able to stay mad at him so I just spoke, "Whatever, Nate." I blurted, leaning my face closer into him again.

He pulled away, looking into my eyes, "How about we go get something to eat? I'm starving," He said.

"That's actually a good idea." I replied, taking his hand in mine, walking side by side on the sidewalk like a happy couple that were just newly committed.

I took the seat in the corner as soon as we stepped into a chic-looking restaurant while Nate was ordering me some coffee at the register. After that, he was seen with two cups of coffee in his hand, putting them on the table, as he sat himself down on the seat across.

"Nate, I think that's my father," I alerted him, when the door to the restaurant was opened, revealing my father along with Lily by his side. They were both made it at the register, so I had to pull up the menu all the way to my face in order to hide my face.

He turned around for a second then back at me again, "You're right. Jenny, what are we going to do? Should I distract him?" He furrowed his brows, raising his confusion level up.

"No, don't. I don't want him to see me, just play it cool. Act like you don't see him." I whispered cautiously, but my fingers were trembling so any actions I did right now would be caught red handed by my only father.

"What are they doing here anyway, I thought Lily's allergic to this kind of place?" He remarked, sipping on his cup of coffee.

"Well, she's kind of used to it. I mean, they used to date years ago, way before I existed, you know. . ." I replied, explaining my father's life back in the day when he used to be in a band and probably met with a bunch of girls almost every single night.

He chuckled at this new information, "Wait, what? When did this happen? Wow this sounds so weirdly hilarious, tell me more." He said, out of mockery. His tone was sarcastic along with a laugh coming in afterwards.

"Nate, stop, it's not funny! It's the opposite of funny; discussing about my father's many many conquests a while back," I slapped him on the hand, also sipping on my chocolate shake as well. Our food was delivered to the table recently so I took a bite off of my burger.

Throwing his head back, his fingers stole some of my fries that made me glare at him. "Fine, fine, you're probably right. But I will probably ask your brother about it later, though." He announced.

I rolled my eyes knowing that this was a joke and ignored him the whole time. My father and Lily left a while ago while he was busy keeping me occupied; turned out they decided to have takeout.

"Are you okay about this whole Serena thing?" I asked, taking a mouthful of bite into my mouth, my eyes gazed into his.

"Yeah. I mean, she cheated on me. And then dumped me, I'm definitely okay." He replied, looking away from me, into the glass window next to him. Each pedestrians walked by and he just tilted his head back to his coffee, taking another sip.

"I know how much that sucks, which leads to my next point..." I began to say, tracing through my plate with the tip of my fingers, "You can call those girls in your little black book if you want." I pointed out, not in any way trying to accuse him of anything.

"Why would I want to do that? And also, that book actually belongs to Chuck. He told me to keep it as a favor, but I'm not going to do that." He responded.

"Why? Isn't that why he gave it to you in the first place? Look, I know, a guy like you have needs. And I'm probably the last person you want to just fool around with," I revealed, looking down on my almost-finished plate, "so I'm just giving you an easy way out here, Nate." I blurted out, my eyes found his again.

He furrowed his brows, "Jenny, I'm really happy to spend time with you right now. There's nothing I'd rather do than sitting on the couch and watch some movies with you, or even if we just stare at each other. Nothing." He said, squeezing my hand as if he was trying to convince me.

I hid away the blush coming on to my cheeks, "Well, I guess we better get going because according to this Gossip Girl blast, someone spotted us together and I'm assuming we're going to be dead within the hour." I pulled my phone out, showing it to him.

"What? How did anyone even find us here? What are we going to do, our day is officially ruined. We can't go anywhere." He panicked, the tone was clear in his voice.

"Well you did say you'd rather watch a movie with me so do you feel like disappearing in the dark for a while?" I held a knowing smirk towards him.

He nodded, "Lead the way, Humphrey." along with a smirk plastered on his face as well.
