Lie for Me (4)

I had been shaking my legs nervously as my fingers tapped on the phone vigorously. After Blair basically threatened me into confessing something to Nate, sleep was the last thing I thought of at night. In addition to that, the evil dictator herself had been texting me non stop, keeping me up every single time I tried to close my eyes. She even sent receipts of a screenshots of a draft email contained of my secret still waiting to be sent to Gossip Girl.

Nate peeked his head in to the bedroom's door, checking on me. His smile was as bright as the sun surfacing the sky, showing off his full, white teeth. "Breakfast's ready. You going to come out now or do I need to bring it in bed?" He asked, walking towards the bed, with his arms crossed over his chest looking me up and down.

I looked up at him from my phone, faking a smile across my face. "No, it's fine. I'll go now." I declared, getting up from the bed, straightening my clothes to cover up my nervous system.

Entering the kitchen, I could already smell the delicious aroma of pancake and toasted bread. Leaning myself on the counter, as I watched Nate hand over a plate filled with food to my direction.

I smiled at him, genuinely this time, taking a mouthful. "This is really good, honestly I had no idea that you could cook." I complimented, leaning closer to his face, giving him a peek on his cheek.

His face went red then he rolled his eyes to hide his obvious blush, but I didn't even try to ridicule him for it. He took a bite himself right after a female and male's laughter fill up the whole room. And I knew exactly who it came from.

"No, you're not going to work right after our honeymoon, Chuck. Come on, tell him, Nate." Blair said, popping in a grape to her mouth while her eyes shot at my boyfriend and looking back at her own.

"Don't tell her, Nate," Chuck told Nate, but he turned back to the girl next to him. "Blair, I love you but, you know I have a lot of work to catch up on. We've had our honeymoon for weeks and that means I left my work unattended. Now it's time for me to go back at it." He explained.

Blair rolled her eyes, boringly, "Fine. But don't expect you're getting anything tonight." She spoke, blatantly, making the people around her feel slightly uncomfortable.

Nate chuckled at the married couple in front of him, and they weren't even really married yet still acted as if they were. "Blair, maybe you want to hang with Jenny. I mean, I'm busy anyway and it'll be good that you two spend some time together." He suggested.

I choked and spat as soon as I heard the words came out of my gullible of a boyfriend's mouth. My eyes reacted quickly and threw a glare at him, in which he didn't even catch. "Wait, what will you be doing, Nate?" I raised a brow at him, questioningly.

It was Blair who decided to open her mouth and say something that caused me to turn my head at her, afraid of what she would reveal. "That doesn't sound too bad, a girl time with Little J? Who knows, maybe by the end of it, we'll be braiding each other's hair and making friendship bracelets that spell best friend forever." She said, sarcastically, shooting a wicked smile right in my way.

Nate, being the guy who always seemed aloof that he was, didn't get any of that but he just nodded his head and looked in my direction instead. "Perfect, and I have made plans to go have lunch with my father later. Sory, Jenny, but don't forget to fill me in the details on your trip with Blair tonight?" He told, explaining himself to me.

I felt like I'd just lost my appetite and pushed away the plate in front of me. Shrugging, I finally said, "Fine. A girl's day sounds good to me." I declared.

"Blair, we don't have to go out today. You know that, right?" I spoke, applying makeup after I was done getting dressed with my casual jeans and shorts along with a statement leather jacket. My hair was curled perfectly down on my back, and Blair was sitting five feet away from me on the couch, leaving a lot of space between us.

"Are you sure you want to do anymore lying to your beloved boyfriend, Little J? Have you learned nothing that lies can grow bigger, and when that happens to you, I'll be cheering on the stands clapping my hands out of joy?" Blair shot, dropping what she was doing to take the time to make eye contact with me. Her facial expression was all smiling but her tone told otherwise.

I rolled my eyes at her, sighing in exaggeration. "You know we don't like each other, right? Besides, I really don't want to spend the time with you so why would you even agree to the idea in the first place?" I rationalized with her, a failed attempt to get her to not go through the suggestion and just blow it off.

She sighed and looked up at the ceiling. "You got that right on the first one," She shot and continued on, "but I'd rather go out with someone than sitting in this room all day. Now, come on and get ready faster, I've alreday made reservation at this sushi place downtown." She revealed.

I didn't have the energy to argue with Blair Waldorf anymore so I just quickly put on makeup and finally we were out of the door. The car already picked us up and waited patiently in the lobby, as my feet made it to the backseat. Blair was popping up champagne and poured herself some without even turning back to offer me some. I shook my head and my arm reached out to grab the bottle of champagne and did the same as well.

"So Jenny, have you planned on telling Nate about your little secret? You know if you don't, I'm going to be happy to be the messenger, right?" Blair began to say, a glass of champagne on her hold, while her eyes shooting right at me.

I took a sip before giving my response to her, "Blair, you know that's going to hurt him, don't you? Why are you pressuring me into doing this?" I went straightforward with her and just dug the truth out of her.

A smirk appeared on her face, along with a witty smile, "Oh, Little J, do you not know him at all? What have you guys done besides making waffles every morning after staying up late playing video games all night?" She sighed, shaking her head in disapproval at me. "You know Nate isn't a big fan of liars, right? Especially if he knows that the girl he's been banging, isn't even a girl anymore." She shot right at my heart, shutting me up almost immediately.

"My relationship isn't a joke, Blair. I love him and why do you want me to fail him so badly?" I shot at her back, not even managing eye contact with her, looking out of the window instead.

She scoffed, "Don't you know that's my point, Little J? Like you said earlier, I don't like you and never will be. And Nate was once upon a time, my everything too, so I'm not going to sit here and look at you replacing a seat that was once mine." She remarked, by now she wasn't just acting all smiling but she went full on her witch mode.

I sat there, stunned at her words, but managed to keep my chin up. Without even hesitating even a little bit, I smirked at her. "Well, well, I never knew that Blair Waldorf can be jealous. Of me out of all people. Guess what, Blair? I'm staying, so get used to it." I leaned my face closer to her, my eyes shot daggers at her, and my tone was just as threatening as hers that pretty sure sent her skin crawling.

She just stared at me as if she was trying to kill me but I sipped on my drink once again and looked out of the window to enjoy the rest of the ride in absolute silence.
