Jenny sat on the couch between Eric and Lily as Nate was only two spaces away from her. She waited for the bride-to-be that was Serena to walk down the stairs while her brother, Dan, was standing there at the bottom of the stairs, ready to take her hand in marriage.

It had been a good five years since she last saw him- before she was sent to boarding school by her father, Rufus, who was so done with her old tricks and thought that her behavior towards everything was too much for him. Nothing had changed since she left, but she noticed something, the love of her life had.

At the wedding of her step sibling and brother, she discovered that he was apparently no one's date. And that surprised her, considering she had always known him as someone who would have someone clinging onto him. Seeing him sitting all alone, gazing towards Serena; who finally walked down the stairs in her gorgeous gold dress with white accent on the chest area.

She sighed at the sight. Even after all these years, the guy she fell in love with, was still pawning over Serena van der Woodsen. The girl who was clear would never be his. While she was sitting there, wishing that he could be mine, after all these years. But guess, that was too much to ask for from where she was sitting.

After Dan and Serena were done getting married, Jenny stood up to get more drinks in order to prevent her from feeling the way she was at the moment. She bumped into Serena and said her blessings along the way, "Congratulations, Serena. Finally, your journey was all paid off!" She said, holding a cup of drink in her hand, sounding a little too cheery.

Serena grinned from ear to ear hearing that, and squeezed the girl's hand for a moment. "Thank you, Jenny. And I'm glad you're back, boarding school treated you so well; you look good than ever." She complimented.

Jenny threw a smile at Serena, and sipped on her drink. As much as she loved her experience being an it girl at the boarding school she went to, she couldn't help but miss all the things in the city- especially someone whom she hadn't spoken to in a long time. "Thanks, Serena. And yeah, it did. I'm so much better now.." She revealed.

"Well, have fun, I'm going to greet more people. It was great to see you again, Jenny." Was all Serena said before she walked away from the girl to approach more people who came to the wedding.

Jenny stood there in the refreshment aisle, looking around the room. Watching a very specific person talking to the guy whom she lost her virginity to, laughing over something that the guy said. She sipped another drink and headed towards outside to get some air. Making sure that Nate got a sense of her strong, sweet perfume that she was wearing as she walked past the guy.

Finally, her feet reached the front door. There was nothing but decoration of floral pathway in front of her, but it was better than standing inside with no one to talk to. Eric was not exactly a choice because they had stayed in contact while she went away to boarding school. So, there was really nothing new to talk about considering they had pretty much shared everything with each other.

The sound of a guy clearing his throat deeply came behind her, making her turn around and was face to face with the one person whom she wished to say hi to at that moment. "Jenny," Nate blurted out, his hand on his pocket, as his other hand brought a drink up to his mouth.

His eyes stared at the sight upfront, as she did the same as well. "Nate." Was all she could ever say to him. As if they hadn't been talking in so long, she honestly had no clue as to what to say to someone whom she had a romantic past with a lifetime ago.

"So are you back for good? Like, how's boarding school?" He asked her, tilting his head to the side to catch a glimpse of her face.

She turned her head to him, looking down on her feet. Facing him had always been making her weak to her knees that she couldn't help but fall to the ground. "Yeah, I guess I'm back. And it was so great, I didn't have to try so hard to fit in because everyone else already liked me for who I was." She revealed, explaining everything to him.

He nodded, "That's good. I've always known that you were amazing the way you were. It was so hard to watch when you sucked up to those girls at Constance so much when you could be unique in your own way." He declared, sipping on his drink after.

Chuckling at his words, she walked towards the bench by the terrace and plopped herself down. He did the same, sitting next to her. "Well, how about you? I heard that you own this big newspaper company called 'The Spectator', right?" She changed the subject.

He leaned his back against the cold, hard bench with his arms spread out on the stand. "Yeah, you heard right. And I'm actually mad that you never told me about your brother being Gossip Girl." He commented, she could hear the light joke in his tone.

She laughed, "Yeah well, where's the fun in that if I told you, right?" She stated, sarcastically, gazing away at the beautiful sunny view in front of her.

He chuckled, "You're right," He paused, sipping on his drink again, before continuing his sentences. And then, his body turned to her, putting a hand on her thigh, making her look at him closely. "Listen, Jenny, when you left, I regretted that I never told you how I truly feel. The truth is, I never got over you. No matter how many girls I had around me, none of them were ever lived up to you. I regretted not asking you out when I had the chance, and now I'm not going to do that anymore..." He said.

She held her breath for a second, staring at his eyes to look for some kind of joke in them, but she found certainty instead. Her hand was put on top of his finally, her eyes made eye contact with his. "Nate..." She muttered, lowly, her voice sounded like it might crack and that was why it was all she could say.

"No, Jenny, let me continue. I want to be with you, all those times I thought I wanted Serena, but the truth was, you've always been the one who wanted me for me. And I didn't realize that I wanted you too because I was too caught up on some stupid fantasy of my life with her, but you're the one, Jenny." He stared right through her eyes, as she had her hand covering up her mouth, preventing herself from tearing up right there.

"Wait, you're not proposing to me, are you, Nate?" She chuckled, a tear slipped through on her face that she quickly wiped away before he could even notice.

He looked down, chuckling, "No, Jenny. But I want to give us a chance. I know it took me a long time to get here but it's better late than never, right? So Jennifer Tallulah Humphrey, will you go out on a date with me?" He asked.

She smiled as bright as she could and nodded her head repeatedly. "Yes, Nate, Yes!" She exclaimed out of joy, her arms were quick to wrap around his neck. Then broke away to give her lips a chance to finally feel his kiss again.

It had been so long since she tasted his kiss and damn did she miss it. She felt like she was over the moon and finally at ease. Her life was turning around in the hands of no one but herself, and now she couldn't wait to spend another day with the love of her life by her side. And with no gossip sites were going to ruin that for her, it almost felt like a dream.

Finally, she was happy.
