Amnesia

Chapter 7

„Hey buddy, how are you holding up?" Mike asks as he enters Harvey's room.

„I don't know. The talk with Donna was pretty weird. She says we are not actually a couple." he responds, still confused.

„I am so sorry Harvey, but that's true. You and Donna are not a couple. Your brain is missing a piece of information, so it mixed up some memories and maybe even dreams." Mike explains.

„But she said that the kiss was real?" Harvey says, trying to put all the pieces together.

„Yes, that's true, too." Mike answers, nodding.

„Why? How? I mean.." Harvey starts.

„Listen, I'd love to tell you all this, but I think you should talk with her about this." Mike says.

„Yeah, you are probably right." Harvey agrees, „so who are you again?"

Mike looks at him in shook. Then Harvey bursts out laughing.

„I am just kidding hahah." Harvey says under his breath. Mike's facial expression had been hilarious.

Mike immediately recognizes a change in Harvey's behavior. Harvey seems different. Kind off more open and not as emotional unavailable, as Mike's used to. Maybe the thought of being together with Donna, makes him feel safe and allows him to be more open.

At the same time, Donna is sitting on a bench in the central park, thinking about Harvey. She is an emotional rollercoaster at the moment, feeling all the emotions you can probably feel. From happy to sad, heartbroken to excited, cheerful to confused and just weird at all times.
She is used to feeling sad from time to time, because of him, but she has never felt so many emotions at the same time before. Well, one time; when they kissed.

She can't explain to him why she kissed him, without exposing herself to him. But what's the use, she's gotta do it anyway. For him. And she can't deny that's she's not even a little thrilled to find out what he knows and how his mind put it all together.

She grabs herself a coffee at one of the coffee stands close to her bench and listens to a few of her favorite songs she loves to hear, when times get rough, before she returns to the hospital.

There she bumps into Rachel and Mike.

„Hi." she says, hugging Rachel and then Mike.

„Hey, how are you?" Rachel asks, looking at her friend in concern.

She knows this isn't easy for Donna either. After all she's the person who has to tell him, why exactly they are not a couple (a question she couldn't even answer herself) and what happened between them.

„Really really confused." Donna states honestly.

„Understandable. If I can do anything for you, please let me know." Rachel continues, trying to be there for her friend.

„Thank you, Rach." Donnas responds, really appreciating Rachel's friendship.

„You know..Harvey is different..he seems to be better than he has for months or even years." Mike says quietly, trying to help his friend.

Donna nods.

„Thanks you guys." she answers.

Mike is sure that it has to do with Donna. She has always been his better half. She has been his rock, his safe place, his friend and his guide sign for as long as he has worked at the firm.
