~3rd Person POV~
"Let go of me!" The small fox-hybrid screamed while the guards shoved him into an empty cage. Or at least he thought it was... Immediately after being thrown to the cold floor, he ran up to the gate, clenching his teeth and growling. They closed the gate before the fox could attack them and laughed as he tried to move the iron bars. "Let me out this instant! Get me out of here!" He barked at them. The guards started walking away. "WHERE DO YOU THINK YOU'RE GOING?! COME BACK HERE!" His voice cracked at 'here' as a heavy sob left his mouth. He gave up escaping and sat down on the cement floor.
The lion-hybrid noticed the smaller's presence, and slowly crawled out of the shadow in the corner of the cage. His tail swung left and right with grace. "Who are you?" He asked. The sudden question startled the fox and his tail tensed up. He turned around to see the rather calm lion.
"S-stay away," The fox warned whipping away some of his tears. The lion chuckled.
"Hello to you too. I'm Alex," Alex said, standing up in two feet. He was almost 4 meters tall, which was an average for hybrids, while the fox was only 3.20 (Or 4.20 if ya know what i mean-).
"John..." The fox-... John said, standing up too and trying his best to look intimidating. Alex laughed at the uncommonly short hybrid. "W-what are you laughing at?!" John scolded him, blushing.
"Oh, nothing, small one," Alex teased, after catching his breath. John crossed his arms and sat back down, avoiding eye contact. After a minute of silence, the lion spoke.
"Wait, how are you a boy, if we're supposed to..." Alex blushed at the mentioning of the next, "breed..?"
"I'm not...?" John mumbled. Alex tilted his head in confusion. "I'm a girl... I just don't feel like one..." The lion made an 'o' shape with his mouth and looked away. "Look, i don't know you. And, i don't want to be rude, but i won't "breed" with you. Not because i don't think you're hot- i-i mean... I don't want to be forced to... "do it"... With someone i don't know... Let alone have babies. Also, a lion and a fox? What were they thinking?" He explained.
"Well then, you are more than welcome to die," Alex spat. "You know if we don't breed, they kill us. Besides, if we do this, they'll leave us alone and we'll never see each other again, because that's what you're worried about apparently," He huffed annoyed.
"Let me think about it," John mumbled, turning around and facing the wall.
~< Oooo time skip (NO SMUT FOR YOU-)>~
"They're doing the check today..." Alex said from their bed, laying face-upwards.
"I know," John shouted from bathroom... Well, they wouldn't call it like that. It was more of a room with nothing but a toilet and a bath. Not even a faucet to wash their hands. Which was utterly disgusting.
"How are you doing?" Alex said, getting up and walking towards the ""bathroom"". (I should stop-) He looked down at the small fox and smiled. John sighed and nodded, turning his head up. Alex jumped and fist-bumped the air.
John laughed "I don't know what you're so exited about-"
"We're finally getting out of here!" The lion celebrated, wiggling his tail. John frowned.
"Yeah... Right," He mumbled, faking happiness.
"Hey... What's wrong? I thought this was what you wanted..." Alex grabbed John's shoulders, a worried look on his face.
"B-but I... I," John didn't want to admit it. "I like you... A-and... I enjoyed i-it..?"
Alex's face flushed. "I-I mean... W-we can claim our b-babies... If that's what you wan-"
"No more of what I want," John interrupted. "What do you think we should do?"
"I..." Alex was in loss of words, so he followed his heart. (That sounds so cheesy) He grabbed John's chin and kissed his lips softly.
"Stay..?"
John giggled. "Yes..."
