An: Why is John always telling the story???

About half a week ago, Alexander knelt down with a ring inside a black velvet box asking me for marriage. Of course, i said yes. Others may see us as really different people, like in high school, we were just "John and Alex, neck and neck". And it was partly true! I was really competitive with him, but then I realized i just had a huge gay crush in him. Fortunately, he did too. And that's basically our story. Anyway, enough about the past.
Like i said, he proposed, but before asking my parents. Which may or may not be the worst choice ever. See, my parents aren't homophobic (thank God for that), but they are very strict when it comes to marriage. Inconvenient, right?
Anyway, I invited them to come over and tell them the news and, y'know, see how they'd react. I'm gonna make a spoiler here, everything turned out alright. But it was kind of a mess.
So, that day arrived and so did my parents. I woke up early, changed myself into something casual but presentable enough and made a small breakfast. Alex was still asleep while i did that, so i guess you could say it was a ""surprise"". By that i mean I thought he knew they were coming... and that's where i went wrong.
I heard a knock on the door and already knew who it was. I opened it and my mom greeted me with a warm hug. "Hi mum," I mumbled into her shoulder. She pulled away and caressed my cheek while my dad smiled at me.
"When was the last time I saw you this happy, my boy?" She asked.
I laughed. "Since like, graduation," I answered an we all smiled.
"Glad to see you, son" My father said.
"Come in please! Make yourselves at home," I said quickly leading them to the next room. The sat on the couch as I nervously played with my engagement ring on my finger. They hadn't noticed it yet.
"How's Alex, dear?" She asks and I walked over to the small chair.
"He's good! Everything's great, he's been so nice.." I said softly, remembering I didn't practice how to tell them the news.
"I'm glad"
We talked about other things, like, how life in the big city was, all that stuff, until I offered something to eat and drink. The happily agreed, especially my dad, since he's always hungry, and I went to the kitchen to look for some cookies. I was getting a cup from the shelf when I heard Alex come in from our room. (It's connected to the kitchen so my parents hadn't seen him) He was in just plain grey boxers, his abs exposed. (Don't drool over the counter, John-) I eyed him for a minute before he spoke.
"Morning, babe," He said yawning a bit.
I scoffed. "Morning? It's almost noon," I said.
"Please, have mercy on me," He laughed, his arms snaking around my torso as he slowly approached. Our foreheads touched and I smiled. He took my hand in his and looked at the ring. "John Hamilton... Doesn't that sound beautiful, peaches?"
I giggle. "Yes, love, but my dad still has t-" He cuts me off with a kiss on my lips. I kiss back and he bites my bottom lip, licking it afterwards. (That is some major level of making out-) I gasped and he made out with me for like a minute. He picked me up and put me in the counter and damn it was hard to tell him to stop. I didn't want to stop, but my parents were in the next room. I tried not to moan as he gripped my sides and I wrapped my arms around his neck. "Alex.." I mumbled quietly and he grins.
"Yes, John?~" He teased.
"My dad has to approve.." I said.
"I know," He said and continued kissing me. Buuut... It didn't last long.
My mom came into the kitchen, her eyes widening when she saw this scene. I pushed Alex off me and jumped off the counter with a nervous laugh "MoOOOoOom..". She teased me later.
Alex went to put on some pants and a shirt as I waited on the couch. We told them about our engagement. They were really happy for us and accepted. I almost started crying because I thought they wouldn't.
But after all, I ended up marrying the man I love with all my heart.
