Y/N enters the tenshu after Mitsuhide left.

Except for the four flickering lanterns in the room, creating a soft ambiance to the space, there is nothing else that gives light to the chamber. The door to the balcony was close, blocking the moonlight from entering.

"Did you come to see my cruelty first hand?" A smirk plays itself on his lips.

Nobunaga is still in his seat, he looks at her with those icy, derision gaze.

Y/N remains in silent as she seats herself in front of Nobunaga, the spot where Mitsuhide was at just a few minutes ago.

"No, I came to talk." Y/N responds determinedly, looking directly into his eyes.

She sworn she could have seen that one second wavering in his cold eyes.

"Why do you never voiced yourself when people called you a killer? Even I." Y/N starts her questioning.

She is determined to get the answers tonight. At least that will help her come to understand these people more, including him, Nobunaga.

"There is no reason to." He replies crudely.

"Why not? Don't you want people to understand you?" She snaps back, her voice carries a different tone compared to the last time she talked to him at Kyoto.

A voice full of concern and curiosity.

"I don't have to play this game of question and answer with you." He clearly does not understand her compassion.

"I want to understand." The young woman's gaze never averts from his dark brown orbs. "I want to understand why you did, why you are doing it and will continue doing it. I want to understand your stance."

"What can a weakling like you do." Each of his word is filled with contempt.

"I can..." She tries her best to find the right words so she can make him tell her.

But she finds herself unable to answer his question.

"I can't..." Her voice lowers, realizing there is nothing she could actually do to help him in his ambitions. "Then why do you still keep me here?"

Nobunaga's expression remains unchanged but her question had caught him off guard. He finds himself unable to find the answer to that. Like her, he never averts his gaze away from her eyes. She is a mere weakling that kept getting in his way, yet he doesn't know why she is still alive in front of him. Surely, saving his life once is not enough to keep her head on her neck to this day. Then what is the reason to it?

"Because you see me as a comrade, right?" She answers her own question in place of Nobunaga's silence. "At least that is what I understand... from Mitsunari-sensei."

Her voice trails off inaudible so Nobunaga did not hear the mention of his strategist's name.

"Tell me, explain to me." She has both her hands rest on her laps. "As your comrade, I want to hear and understand your ideal, principle, and your conviction."
