I don't even know what day it is today. I hadn't even bothered to check my phone for the date. I just walked into the school and rushed to my next class. Ian couldn't drive me to school this morning because he forgot his car at the mall while he was shopping with his longtime girlfriend. Apparently, he thought he took the taxi so left his car at the mall, the whole time during the call he kept complaining that the bill for the mall parking would be hefty and would take a week rent out of his pocket. Because that's America and paid parking at public places these days. It's crazy expensive. Anyway, he took a cab to school this morning and didn't bother to pick me up. Alex, on the other hand, is too 'sick' to come to school today so he didn't come to school this morning and left me without a ride. With the invention of technology, I had the power to order an uber but wait. My phone crashes on me first and then decides to die even if I charged it all night (power of the iPhone). Anyway, I had to wake up my sleeping mother who yelled at me when I threw a bucket of water on her head because that's the only way she wakes up before 9 AM. After I get into a yelling contest with my mom she decides that it is best to order me a cab from her phone because she wouldn't want the school to think that she's an unfit parent by not making me go to school.  She is trying to build her Psych in town and her being an unfit mother would not look good on her permanent record or to the people who's office she's trying to rent. Well after she ordered the cab he said that he would be there in 5 minutes. Turns out 5 minutes means 30 minutes for an American cab driver. I was late the moment my mom ordered my cab and now I'm even later. My mom decides to phone the school to tell them that I have a dentist appointment and that I would be in school later. She practically lied to the school and pushed me into the cab. Mind you I didn't have the time to eat breakfast so my stomach was rumbling and bumbling. the taxi driver gave me a few strange looks but otherwise, it was fine. For my embarrassment level not for my stomach.

I run into the school and race past the vending machine. I have to race past it because I know myself and I can get very tempted when it comes to food, or anything containing carbs but that's usually food. I think.

Anywayyy

Maths class dawns upon me. I run into the class and sit on my chair.

"Welcome Jane, I hear you had a dentist appointment from here your teeth don't look flossed, what dentist do you go to Jane?" my maths teacher asks me.

"The one downtown, the nice guy that gives you pretzels and candy after you received some painful stuff done to your teeth" I answer watching the whole class shift in their seats. I even hear someone laugh in the back. I turn around and see its Jace laughing at something on his phone. He looks up and stares at me and the teacher who look quite furious.

"Is there something you would like to share with the rest of the class Jace?" my maths teacher asks.

This is probably the main reason why I don't talk in class. Not because of my grades or anything but because of the teachers finding out about the hot gossip. Like I don't think my teacher would find it amusing that we're talking about Britney screwing the same guy again even if she has strict rules about that kind of stuff during his maths class. Our 6th-grade teachers always wanted the intel on the class couples and crushes. But high school teachers couldn't care less.

Jace looks quite uncomfortable in his seat and replies the simple word "Nothing".

"Thank you, Jane, for letting me know about what dentist you go to my wife has some problems with her teeth lately and I'm trying to make her happy because she seems quite mad at me at the moment" my teacher explains and everyone laughs.

"Let us continue with maths, you are being assessed on a group project which means you will be working in groups to solve a task"

"The groups will be written on the board shortly just give me some time to find a whiteboard marker" my teacher walks to his whiteboard marker pot and fiddles around with it until he pulls out a whiteboard marker.

Group arrangments:

Group 1: Clarke, Jake

Group 2: Amy, Belle

Group 3: Jonas, Lea

Group 4: Jane, Jace
