Step 1: Find the power button. It is normally either alone sitting on the top of your keyboard (normally on the right hand side) or it is clearly labeled.
Step 2: Press the newly found power button. Do not freak out when the screen lights up and words appear - this is entirely normal.
Step 3: If the screen does not light up or your computer tells you that it's battery is low try plugging its charger into a power point at one end and your laptop at the other. Repeat steps 1 and 2.
Step 4: If step 3 does not work. Find a tall building or cliff and 'accidentally' drop your laptop over the edge.
Warning: when dropping laptops you are required to let go of the electrical device and not plummet to your death.
