It was 5 years ago. I was 13, still qualified to be in the Games. The editors smash cut to the reaping, and I can see a crowd of young faces, waiting for one of them to be picked. I see the same old bright and happy Lionel, except that he didn't have as much hair back then. He calls the girls first, as usual, and Tiffany is called. When they call a boy, another boy volunteers for her. I later realize that the two district partners are boyfriend and girlfriend. No wonder he volunteered to be with her in the Games. In the parade, she and her boyfriend dress as ranchers. I would know. My mother is one. During Tiffany's interview, she acts very nice and sweet to the crowd. I guess she was different back then and the Games changed her, and not for the better as you can expect. I mean, her boyfriend had to have died in the arena, right?

"Thats her boyfriend!" Elizabeth says, but Greir just shushes her. Tiffany's partner, Chase, acts brutal and silent. After that, the arena is revealed to be something very weird. Nothing we've seen before, so the tributes's advice for survival on how to get water, is now useless. One of the cameras shows an areal shot that shows the entire arena, or most of it anyways. One side of it, where the cornucopia is located, is located at an ancient palace. The other side of the arena are salt flats with a labyrinth made of poisonous bushes, with mutts resembling lizards. Theres even a thing that looks like a minotaur lurking in there too. Once the cannon fires, all hell breaks loose. Tiffany and Chase are one of the ones to enter the bloodbath. When Tiffany was fighting the girl from District 7, she is tripped by the other girl's foot and she lands on her face. Tiffany's about to get slaughtered when Chase takes the nearest weapon and decapitates the girl from 7 with a battle axe.

Chase pulls Tiffany up and they exchange kisses. Tiffany grabs the tomahawk from the dead girl. A boy is about to run up behind Chase and kill him, but Tiffany throws the tomahawk like its as light as a pencil, with the weapon getting struck in the boy's chest, probably puncturing his heart.

"Thanks," I hear Chase say

"No problem. You saved my life, I'll save yours."

"Sounds like a good deal to me," says Chase. Chase and Tiffany take four backpacks, one with each hand and run off in the direction where the palace is, avoiding the salt flat. The bloodbath ends with 12 people killed. While running in a random direction, they find more tress and bushes. And they're there for a reason too. On day 4, the lovers encounter the pair from 6, both small and lanky children. However, the girl from 6 has a slingshot. The slingshot isn't loaded with rocks, but with knives, and when the lovers attack, Chase gets a knife launched in his stomach. This angers Tiffany so much that she kills both of the kids in no time flat.

"CHASE!" She screams.

"Tiffany, listen to me-" Chase stutters "If I die, you have to win this thing. You agreed to kill me if I was going through too much pain. Do it now." Tiffany says no, and she does something very surprising. She must have trained in the medicine stations during her training, since she's using he plants as a pharmacy, and in no time, Chase is okay, with a bandage made out of leaves covering his gash. It took them 2 days to do it, but it worked. And its the time they ran out of food. Right when the two get a sponsor from someone with food, the career pack's food supply gets raided by the pack of lizard mutts. Hideous things. They even managed to kill one of the careers too. After eating what was left of the meal they received, they searched for food. They get attacked by Tracker Jackers. They don't hurt Tiffany, but they severely injure Chase. At this point he can't take the pain and stabs himself in the chest, right where his other wound was, killing him. Tiffany didn't stop him in time from him committing suicide. This all explains why this made her such a mean person.

At that point, I think she had no-one to stop for, and nothing to lose. She didn't care if she was killed by anyone or anything, just being a survivor. When chasing down the last career on day 19, they both run into the mighty minotaur. The thing has only killed two people before them and is thirsting for more blood I guess. When they were running away from the beast, Tiffany takes Chase's axe and slams it into the other girl's chest, causing her to fly back in the minotaurs hands and she is eaten, killing her, and crowning Tiffany the winner. The screen cuts to black and we just sit there in silence, seeing what just happened. I didn't remember this year's Games to well so this was a great reminder.
