Chapter 5

Ruby POV
Ugh, we have been searching for y/n all around Vale for hours now and we still saw no sign of him.
"we've been searching for aaaaaaages, we should just go back" I said dejected. Y/N has been missing for 2 days now and we've seen no sign of him, we'll never know what he is.
"*sigh* ye, we can continue our search tommorow" said Yang, but she didn't sound very enthusiastic.
"Ugh, we've been searching for days and haven't seen a single sign of him.. Maybe we should give up, search another da-" weiss was cut off by an ear piercing scream.
"AHHHHHHHHHH"
"Quick, I think it came from that ally" said Blake, pointing towards an ally. Running towards the dark section behind the building, we peered in to see.. WRAITH!... infront of a man... With his sword... Through.. The.. Man's.. Chest.
I gasped, causing him to snap his head towards us.

Y/N POV
After killing the man who set the bounty, a pissed off dad who was furious that his perverted son (that couldn't keep his hands to Himself) was hospitalised by Mia, a sudden gasp caught my attention. Snapping my head towards the ally exit I was greeted to team RWBY, peering through the ally at me... And the guy I just killed. This is gonna be awkward.
"Y-you MURDERER" Shouted Ruby, before stupidly charging at me with her scythe drawn. Simply stepping to the side, I withdrew my sword from the guy's chest and used the handle to smack Ruby in the head, stunning her long enough for me to kick her back to her team.
"calm down little red, I'm no murderer... Kinda"
"LIAR!" she screamed, attempting to lunge at me again but being held back by Yang, said girl worried for her sister's safety.
Weiss took Ruby's place and attacked me with her rapier. Ice queen was more difficult considering she was more coordinated and skilled with swords. Swift and hard strikes with her rapier was sent at me, yet I simply deflected them with my sword until I finally got the edge and sent her rapier to the side before kicking her legs from beneath her. Once she was on her knees I spin kicked her away.

Though I sadly had no time to breathe as I was attacked by Yang and Blake.
"You killed an innocent man" screamed Yang, shooting me with her shotgun shells from her gauntlets with every punch she threw at me. Ducking under Blake's sword, I swiftly back flipped away from Yang's attack's while shooting my dual pistols at them.
"he was hardly innocent" I shouted back, before transforming my sword into a sniper and taking a shot at Yang, but she dodged which I did expect so I tried a different method. Aiming my sniper towards Ruby, said girl quickly widened her eyes as time seemed to slow down. Yang quickly shot her shotgun gauntlets and flew towards Ruby, in an attempt to stop her getting shot. Both the sisters collided and were sent flying into weiss, then into a wall, I never intended to shoot her. Spinning round, I blocked gambol shroud with my sniper before locking eyes with Blake. Her eyes were full of rage, yet held hesitation.
"you said he was hardly innocent... How?" she asked
"he set a bounty on my team mate, that was the thing I was after him for at first. Then, I learned he had a big part in the transportation and enslavement of faunas, even to this day. He has killed, bribed, blackmailed etc... I was just ridding the world of trash" I replied. It took her a few seconds before she sheathed gambol shroud and her eyes changed from rage to... Admiration? Nah, had to be my eyes.
"Y-you didn't have to kill him" stuttered Ruby, buried underneath Yang and weiss.
"you try to kill my team, I kill you. That's how I work" I replied, cleaning my sword of blood...
"... This stays between us"

"please?"
"no"

"NO!"
As we walked back to beacon, I told the girls about me being a Merc and explained mine and Ozpin's deal (minus the Mission's that I'll be doing) , yet Ruby wanted to tell her freinds (including my team) to which I denied.
"Who's the most dangerous person you've killed" asked Yang.
"hmmm.. I guess it would have to be Jack Hawk" I said nonchalantly, causing the girls to go wide eyed.
"wait... You killed Jack Hawk? One of the most dangerous people to ever walk remnant, rumoured to have killed 67 hunters/huntresses, take ozpin toe to toe and escape alive?" asked weiss to which I nodded.
"remember his combat knife?" I asked to which she nodded. Ejecting my hidden blade I allowed the girls to examine it before they gasped in surprise when noticing the engraving J.H EYE IN THE SKY in thin letters at the base of the blade.
"I extracted it from the handle and made it my hidden blade"
"your so cool" said Ruby, looking at me with stars in her eyes.
"... Please?"
"*sigh*"
