Mira P.O.V:

I can't believe it! What a jerk! Oliver Jones is a complete arsehole! He marched up to me in Divination and demanded to know who sent me the flowers. When I told him I had no idea, he ripped the lily out of my hair and searched it as if it held a secret. What a moron!

I tried talking to Lily about it. She just said he's crazy. I don't know whether or not I should believe her. However, she does know him better than me.

I decided to skip patrol that night. I wanted to have some time to calm down. But I completely forgot I'd made plans with Lucius to patrol.

Third Person POV:

Mira was sitting in her dorm in Ravenclaw when one of the girls walked in. "Hey M? There's someone here to see you."

Mira nodded and replied, "Thanks Grace."

She went downstairs and put into the corridor to see Lucius Malfoy leaning against the wall. "Late again, are we? Better not make this a habit Mir-." He saw how sad she looked. "Hey what's wrong?" He asked, his voice gentler and softer.

Mira shook her head. "Nothing. Let's just go."

She started walking and he chased after her.

"Mira wait up!" He called. "Cmon talk to me."

She stopped walking and looked at him. Then she told him everything that'd happened that day. Halfway through, she started to cry.

Lucius liked angry for a moment but then he wrapped his arms around her in a hug and rubbed her back.

Lucius P.O.V:

I can't believe his nerve! Why would Oliver Jones hurt someone like Mira? She hadn't been having a good day anyways and then he came along and was an ass.

I was angry for a bit, but when I saw how sad she looked, I didn't hesitate to do something very Un-Malfoy-Like.

I stepped forward and wrapped my arms around the sobbing girl and pulled her into a hug. I rubbed her back and whispered, "It's ok. I'm here. I'm here."

She sobbed onto my chest for a while before I felt her grip on me slacken. I looked down to see that she was falling asleep from exhaustion. I gently picked her up bridal style and walked her back to her common room.

I knocked on the door and a seventh year walked out and saw her in my arms. He nodded to me, a sign of respect and gently took her from me and into his own arms.

"I'll make sure she gets to bed. Thank you, Malfoy." He said.

"Who are you?" I asked, worried about her.

"I'm Theo Mastoff. Seventh year. I tutored Mira when she was younger. She's like a sister to me. I'll take care of her. Goodnight, Malfoy." He said and went inside.

When the portrait closed, I sighed softly. Why did I care so much about her and her happiness and safety? This was like nothing I've ever felt before. It was strange, but I liked feeling like this. I liked it a lot.
