Kehlani POV
A couple months later

I roll my bags down the parking lot and not to get ran over by my own stuff. David comes and grabs the stuff from me and shakes his head as he walks away.

"Thanks D!" I giggle. I see Chance talking to Pat and looking at a clipboard.

"Lani!" I hear my name behind me. Kyrie must be coming to say bye. I just pray he doesn't start anything, his reaction was nothing less than inappropriate when I told him about the tour.

"A tour?" He asks. I nod with a big smile on my face.

"Yeah I'm so excited! Isn't this great?"

"You going on tour with a nigga I don't know for like 2 months, nah fuck that."

"Ky this is big and good. Why is the only thing you're worried about is me being in the same vicinity as another dude?"

"Because you're my girl! I don't want that nigga around you everyday and every night. I didn't even want you in that damn music video. I should've said no to him even being on the song."

"Since when do you have any say in who I put on my songs? This is my music and my career, you have no input unless I ask for it. And I surely didn't."

After that I stayed in my own apartment. He came over a few times but I'd never let him stay. Last night was no exception.

I turn around and walk towards him.

"Have a good tour, I'm gonna miss you baby." He wraps me up in a hug and kisses my head.

"I'll miss you too Ky."

"Okay I gotta go, practice." I nod. He glances behind me at the bus and sighs. Quickly he pulls me into him and kisses me roughly. I kiss him back, but not with the same passion.

His grip loosens and I step back.

"You don't know how bad I want you right now." He whispers. I shake my head at him.

"You gotta go. Practice." I pat his chest then turn to get on the bus.

I get to the door of the bus and Chance grabs me. He hugs me tightly.

"You ready?" He asks. I nod. "Alright then let's go."

We all get on the bus and find a place to chill.

The driver stands at the front of the bus and smiles. "First stop Chicago!" We all cheer.

The MUA adds a touch of highlight to my cheek bones then closes the compact. She smiles and admired my face.

"Wow girl you look so good. All I need to do is add the lipgloss.

"I can do it." I offer. She shrugs and hands me the tube. I apply the lipgloss then fix my tube top.

"Damn girl." Sam says once I turn around. I pose and make silly faces as she takes pictures. "I'm so proud of you."

"Thanks Sammy-bug." I hug her tightly. "I'll be back."

I stand up and fix myself before getting up to go to Chance's dressing room.

As soon as I open the door I see Chance standing outside. I wrap my arms around him and take a deep breath. His warm, calming scent fills my nose and puts me at ease.

"I was just coming to see you." I tell him.

"What made you think I wasn't about to come over here?" He chuckles. We walk back inside my dressing room and sit down with Sam. They dap each other up.

"Y'all ready?" Sam asks us.

"Yeah." We say at the same time.

"This feels like high school again, slightly."

"Except Ed isn't here." Chance points out.

"Oh shit i gotta win this bet." Sam pulls her phone out and walks to the other side of the room. The Facetime tone rings as we wait. "You owe me ten dollars. You owe me ten dollars." Sam taunts into her camera.

"Bitch how?" I hear Ed asks.

"Eddie!" I yell with a smile.

"Lani-pooh!"

"What's up Ed!" Chance calls out.

"Whos that?" Sam hands the phone to Chance. "Damn it! Ask Sam if i can i give her the ten in weed."

"Yes sir!" Sam says while doing a happy dance in the corner.

"Im confused, why does he owe you?" I pull Chance's hand closer to me so i can see Ed.

"This is why!" He motions to Chance and I. "I bet that yall would see each other one day but would be too hard headed to be together or be friends. Sam bet that yall wouldn't be able to resist each other and would be friends or get back together."

Chance bursts out laughing. I give them both the evil eye.

"Wow so yall are betting on me now?"

"Come on Lani its not that bad." I roll my eyes.

A knock catches Ed's attention and makes him put the phone down. "You coming back baby?" We hear a voice ask.

"Yes, bye bitch gotta go. Love you!"

"Go get that dick boo, love you too." I blow him a kiss before hanging up. "Alright we gotta go."

All three of us walk out to backstage and find the other dancers and crew. We all crowd around Pat and wait for instruction.

"Alright guys this is the first show of the tour and we gotta make it good. This show sets the tone for the rest of the tour. Also this is Chance's city. His home. We gotta do it big." We all clap. We say a quick prayer then get ready to go out.

"You ready Lani?" Chance asks in my ear. I nod. My stomach fills with butterflies so I hold it. He moves my hand and rubs it for me. "You'll do great."

"Thanks CJ," I take a deep breath.

Harold the stage manager motions me forward. I turn to give Chance a hug and his hands are already out. He kisses my forehead.

I stand at the edge of the curtain and wait to run out.

"Ok and go." Harold says. Suddenly the world slows down as I run on the stage. A thousand shadows stare at me and cheer.

"What's up Chi-town!"
