lucky?

The sky was grey.

It was Tuesday, and Jungkook had one more class to attend before school let out.

P.E.

He absolutely hated P.E.

He hated it because he was never allowed to participate. He was always told to sit on a bench, to work on his homework, to keep score of the game. He was never allowed to kick the ball around with the other kids, never allowed to run a couple miles.

And the worst part is he knew he could do it. He knew he could score twice as many goals as the other team, he knew he could run faster than anyone else. If only he didn't have such weak eyes!

He sighed as the teacher sent him off towards the bench. A few kids snickered behind his back as he passed, "look at the blind kid," but he ignored them as best as he could.

He pulled out his math homework and tried in vain to scribble down some answers. As a visually impaired student, he was given much less homework than everyone else. As he could barely see the paper he was writing on, this was justified.

However, during times like this, sitting alone during P.E. class, Jungkook wished he had more homework. Anything would be better than watching his class run around on the court, dribbling the ball and cheering every ten seconds.

He felt invisible.

A loud bell echoed throughout the gym, signaling that the end of school had come, and the class dispersed quickly. Jungkook gathered up his stuff and stood up from the bench.

"You're lucky, you know."

Jungkook turned. The speaker was a short boy, pale blonde hair flopping into his eyes, white hands wrapped around a basketball.

"Excuse me?" Jungkook asked, tilting his head slightly. He didn't know this boy.

"You're lucky that you get to sit out P.E." The boy continued, "you're lucky that no one expects anything from you."

He turned and walked away, and Jungkook felt all the air leave his lungs.

Lucky? He wasn't lucky! He was the farthest thing from lucky!

He was cursed.
