Jungkook found himself shaking his head. He didn't like being in pictures. He didn't like... being photographed. Maybe it had something to do with his anxiety.
What a useless boy I am.
"Aw," Taehyung shoulders drooped. "Ok."
The disappointment was stifling. Sadness didn't suit Taehyung. He looked like the type to take walks at three in the morning, cheap pop songs blasting in his headphones, purple lollipop hanging loosely from one hand. An angel like Taehyung should always be smiling.
"Maybe," Jungkook licked his chapped lips. "Maybe some other time."
The words felt like a promise.
"Ok," Taehyung said again. There was a slight smile in his eyes and Jungkook felt a little bit better. "Anyway," he continued, "I should get going, my shift at the store starts in ten minutes."
Jungkook couldn't imagine Taehyung behind a counter. He couldn't imagine his face below dull fluorescent lights. Would his hair still shine?
Jungkook nodded and Taehyung did a lame curtsey before turning. He watched as Taehyung jogged away, his hair flying and his sandals slapping against the pavement.
He couldn't watch for very long before his eyes began to strain, and he was turning to head back home when he realized that Taehyung had never asked him about his cane.
Most people asked about it right away; why do you have a cane? Are you blind?
Taehyung hadn't even glanced at it.
It made Jungkook feel warm.
