Stairs

They all gasped as Shadow was pulled back before he whacked them. Someone grabbed Shadow from around the throat, and pulled him back. "Woah! Shadow! Take it easy!" A voice said. They all slowly walked out to looked, and their eyes widened. From behind the door, they saw Shadow being pinned to the wall by Sonic and Knuckles! "Sonic! Knuckles!" Silver yelled. Sonic and Knuckles quickly got out of the way as Silver ran in front of them. Silver then stopped Shadow with his telekinesis before he could move. "It's no use!" Silver yelled. "Let...me...go...!" Shadow grunted. "Shadow! What's up with you?!" Knuckles asked in anger. Amy watched in sorrow as Shadow tried to get away and screamed. Shadow slowly looked at them...and he started to calm down. Silver slowly let him go, and Shadow fell to his hands and knees, panting. "Shadow...are you okay...?" Rouge slowly asked. Shadow looked at them, and he suddenly put his hands to his head, screamed, and shut his eyes. Sonic ran to him, and held him close. "Let me go!" Shadow screamed. "This is a trap! Get me out of here!" "Shadow! Calm down! It's us!" Amy yelled. Shadow squirmed more, but he slowed down as he looked at everyone. "What's wrong with me...?" Shadow asked slowly. "You were freaking out and screaming," Blaze said. "You also almost tried to kill us," Silver said. Shadow looked at them and closed his eyes. "This has all been one huge bad idea," he said, sadly. "I can't get these nightmares out of my head...." "Nightmares?" Amy asked. "Shadow, what happened?" "I don't know," he said. "I was first whacked in the head by that ghost...and then...." Suddenly he shivered and held his head again. "They were awful.... Some voice from out of nowhere scared me with these...these visions...of you all dead...." Rouge looked down at him. "You're the bravest one out of us all, and yet now you're scared after all that," she said. "They must have been terribly scary. You don't look so good." Shadow then placed his hand on his stomach. "I don't feel so good either.... I feel dizzy...." "Give him some room," Sonic said, and they all spread out. "No...I'll be fine," he said. He slowly started to get up, but he yelped a bit as he felt the pain in his ankle. "Ah...!" He said in pain. "You think you can walk it ooff Shadow?" Sonic asked. "I'll be fine. Just an ankle," Shadow replied. Amy walked to him, and hugged him. "Uh...is this supposed to keep me balanced or...?" Shadow asked awkwardly. "Well...that and...everyone is getting themselves scared and hurt," she said. "And so the only cure is for me to just lighten the mood that's all." "Well...thanks...Amy," Shadow said as he hugged back a little. Amy pulled away. "Guys, feom now on, we gotta stick together," Blaze said. "I don't want us to lose more than what we almost had." She then looked at Sonic. "Sonic, I'm sorry for being a bit hard on you," she said apologetically. Sonic walked up. "It's okay. But I did kinda deserve this in a way," he said. "I mean, I know I didn't mean to lose anyone...but I still went on the "Let's Go to a Haunted House" bandwagon." Amy walked up to Sonic but then suddenly stopped. "You were gonna hug me too Amy?" He asked, looking at her. "Yes, but I'm sure you don't need one by me anyway," she said, sadly. Sonic looked at her, and slowly wrapped his arms around her. Amy gasped, blushed, and huvged back slowly. "Okay then," Knuckles said. "Enough of the hugging. Let's get out of here." Rouge smirked and hugged him. Knuckles blushed and groaned a bit. They all laughed, and smiled. "Well. You know what they say. Laughter is the best medicine," Amy smiled. Eventually, they all kept going through the house. None of them were afraid. Shadow was still a bit worried and hurt, but they helped him. Suddenly, Sonic gasped. "Look!" He pointed. They looked and saw more stairs. They immediately rushed up the stairs, and looked around. Sonic saw something and slowly stepped back. They all looked at him. "What's up Sonic?" Tails asked. They slowly turned to where he was looking, and stood in silence. They saw the door where they first entered the house. Sonic slowly walked up to the door and placed his hand on it. "Well...we did it," he said slowly. "We're back where we started." "Sonic...," Amy said softly. Sonic turned back and looked beside the door. More stairs. "I bet Cream is up there," he said. "We're almost there," Blaze said. "When I get up there, I'm gonna kick Metal's butt, and trash him," Knuckles said. "Along with his stupid costume." They all nodded, and went up the stairs. They were so close to saving Cream. Just a little more to go.
