“*Breaking New* This is Sarah Fergusen with KYSD News. The outbreak has taken over the local area. There is no word as to how or why this has started. They have yet to find out what is causing it. You have been advised to stay in your homes. Needless to say there is no school today. Please, everyone stay safe.”
Rick & Stella
Rick was still in shock. Whatever this virus was it had taken over his son.
“Let me get the girls Will and we will get out of town.” Rick walked into the office to see Stella and Shelly sleeping in the chairs and Aly on the floor. Olivia was sitting in the corner.
“Olivia, get Aly up and go into the morgue with Will. I need to talk to your mom and Stella.”
As Olivia walked out, Rick shook both of the women, “Ladies, get up. I need to talk to you.”
Both of them rubbed their eyes and stretched. “We are leaving town. We cannot stay here or we are going to end up like poor Emily.”
Stella started to cry, “Alright, let’s go.” Shelly consoled Stella and they both got up and walked out of the door, Rick followed not far behind.
“Will, I hope you have ammo because I have feeling we are going to need it.”
“Yeah, I got it.” Tossing Rick a rifle, they both nodded and opened the elevator.
William
As they all walked out of the elevator he had only a second to thank god they had all been in the basement last night. There were more ‘zombies’ walking around. They had not seemed to take notice just yet that there were living people amongst them. If the problem had gotten this bad inside of the hospital he was afraid of what they would see outside.
The carefully made their way through the hospital, taking out any zombie that may have been in the way.
“I didn’t realize it would get this bad. I would say people didn’t heed my warning last night.” Will felt a tug at his heart. He had no idea what the outcome was going to be and when they walked up to those double doors he had no idea what was going to be waiting out there for them.
Alyannah
As she followed her mom and dad she knew things were going to be scary. But she did not know that these people were going to look so weird. When they got outside Aly noticed another little girl standing to her right.
She squinted to see who it was, but could only make out a figure. “Mom, look.”
“Aly, not right now. Stay close and be quiet.” Her dad said.
Aly did not listen. She walked over to the girl. Slowly trying to get a better look. The girl followed suit and proceeded to walk towards her. Aly could tell she had blonde hair, but it looked really dirty.
As she got closer she tried speaking to the girl. She did not answer. She still could not make out a face, it almost looked black.
“Alyannah Elizabeth! Where are you!”
“Mom I’m over he—“ her words were cut short by searing pain in her arm. The little girl she went to help had bitten her.
The reason Aly could not make out her face because the little girl did not have one. It had been bitten off leaving nothing but a bloody skull exposed.
