Chapter 21

*Shay's POV*

I walked in Stacey's room and sat down beside her. "Now what do you want? Why didn't you just leave with Hunter?"

"I'm here to get you to come back. Can you not see that he needs you? Please just come back. I'll talk to Gracelyn for you."

"Shay, like I told Hunter, I just need some alone time. I'm fine here. Now can you please just leave? I'll eventually come back." She pulled me up and pushed me out of her room.

"Please Stacey."

"No, bye Shay." She shut her door and I didn't even try to stop her.

"I think you should just go. She obviously does not want either of you here. Whatever happened to her, she doesn't want to be apart of anymore." He dad walked up behind me. I heard that he is the person who abuses her.

"Yes sir." I gave in not wanting to make him mad. I walked out of the house and went to the airport. I need to talk to Gracelyn, whatever the hell she is doing to Stacey needs to stop.

*Hours later*

I was finally back home and meeting up with Gracelyn. I sat down beside her on the front steps. "We need to talk."

"About?"

"I think you know. Do not play stupid with me." I told her. She looked at me and gestured for me to continue. "What have you been doing to Stacey? She left because of you."

"She left? That's great." She looked at me and covered her mouth.

"You were trying to get her to leave weren't you? Stacey was right the whole time. You were just using me to get to her and make her leave? You never cared about me. I can't believe I took your side on this and betrayed her. I can't believe that you would do this. I knew you were evil and sneaky and mean, but I did not think you would stoop this low." I stood up.

"Shay, no it's not that. I do care about you. You mean a lot to me. I do like you. I am not using you to get to her."

"Save it. It's over with. I cannot believe that I trusted you!"

"You're right. I was just using you. You were my little play toy to get inside of Stacey's brain and it worked. Thank you. and now she hates you too. Now I do not have anyone getting in the way of Hunter and I. Thank you Shay." She smirked and walked off. I ran inside and searched for my phone.

I quickly dialed Stacey's number and she answered. "I thought I said to leave me alone."

"Please hear me out." It was silent for a minute. "You were right, Gracelyn was only using me to get to you. She told me herself. She just wanted you gone so she can have Hunter. I was so stupid to realize that she was just using me. I'm sorry."

"Took you long enough. I thought you trusted me and I could trust you. I guess I was wrong. You didn't believe me, so why should I believe you are telling the truth and not just trying to get me to come back?"

"I am telling the truth. Please believe me."

"I don't know." I heard a slight sigh come from her end of the phone. "I don't know if I could ever trust you again."

"Please Stacey. I'm begging."

"I got to go."

"Stacey do-" The line went dead and I threw my phone on my bed. Great now she won't ever trust me and I've completely lost my best friend. How could I have been so stupid? I then called Hunter, maybe he could convince Stacey to come back, maybe she will trust him.

"Shay? Is Stacey back with you? She won't answer my calls."

"No. She wouldn't come back with me. But she was true. Gracelyn was just using me to get to Stacey. I just got off of the phone with Stacey, maybe she will believe you if you tell her?"

"She won't talk to me. I can try tho."

"Thanks man. I owe you."

"No problem. I'll call you and let you know what happens." I hung up and sat there, waiting on Hunter to call me back. Hopefully she will believe him. I cannot lose my best friend because of some stupid little slut. Why did I even trust her anyways? I broke Stacey in pieces with this.
