To the silent ones

To the silent ones, silent as trees
I speak of thee
A thousand years of pain
But still thee stay silent as a tree
Bending
Never breaking
But never the same as before

To the silent ones, strong as boulders
Life off you shoulder rolls
Chipping as life goes on
Ever strong

To the silent ones, silent as trees
Dying, suffocating as ivy climbs
Cracking on the inside
Too silent to call out

To the silent ones too late, too late to help
Choked, broken
Forever standing silent as a tree
