The spark that died

Heaven doesn't want me
Hell won't take me
Left stuck
Left floating
Left in endless torment
Pushed and shoved from one place to another
Never fitting in
Never finding happiness
Never finding a final resting place

Condemned to endlessly drift
Searching for a place to fit in
Searching for connections
Yearning for what will never come
For those doors are sealed
Sealed behind mountainous walls
Endless traps
And unbreakable chains

Lost without emotion
Lost without ability to care
Lost, hoping to find a spark
The spark that makes me care
The spark that allows me to show emotion
The spark that allows me to create connections
But that spark never comes
That spark died a long time ago
A time when caring let me down
A time when my emotions were never cared about
A time when my friends decided that they were no longer my friends
But didn't care enough to tell me
Stuck trying to make connections
Never getting a response
Finally learning that it wasn't worth trying
That it wasn't ever going to be worth the effort
That ladies and gentlemen was when that spark died

When I learned to never get to invested
To never care too much
To hide
To only act like I care

That spark is gone
The person that got invested
The person who had emotional attachments
The person who cared
They're gone and never coming back

That spark is gone The person that got invested The person who had emotional attachmentsThe person who cared They're gone and never coming back
