The Effects of Love

Chapter 2

*Jonathan looks over to Troy, who is concentrating on the road, wondering how his life is going to change after the events of the past few days.*

Jonathan: "You know, I wouldn't have been here right now if you had hit the red light right before the bridge."

Troy: "I know. And for the record, if I got stuck at the light, I would have gotten out and ran to you."

*Troy puts his hand on the gear shift, changes gears, and leaves his hand. Jonathan puts his hand on top of Troy's but then takes it away to answer his phone.*

Jonathan: "Hello?"

Dalis: "Hey. Tell Troy to meet us at 47's house. He'll understand."

Jonathan: "Okay... Troy, Dalis said to meet them at 47's house."

Troy: "Okay. Do they want anything?"

Jonathan: "Do you guys want anything?"

Dalis: "Nope! Just bring your beautiful selves!"

Jonathan: *laughing* "Okay. See you in a little bit! Bye!"

Troy: "Do they want anything?"

Jonathan: "No. All Dalis said was to bring our beautiful selves."

Troy: "Haha. In that case, we need to stop at the store.

Jonathan: "What? They said they didn't want anything."

Troy: "Trust me, I know what they want."

*Jonathan rolls his eyes, puts his head on Troy's shoulder, and falls asleep. When Jonathan wakes up he's laying on a blanket being held by Troy. Jonathan sits up and hears the rolling of waves.*

Troy: "Morning sleepy head."

Jonathan: "How did you get me out of your car?"

Troy: "You know, just because I don't play football doesn't mean I can't carry you somewhere."

Jonathan: "You carried me? Aww. That's so sweet."

Troy: "It's no big deal, you aren't as heavy as you look."

Jonathan: *laughing* "Uhhh....thanks???"

*Troy takes Jonathan's hand and helps him get up. They walk along the shore and see Tucker trying to teach Dalis to surf.*

Troy: "Watch this."

*Troy jumps in the water and swims to Dalis' board. Jonathan watches as Troy gets closer. Troy pops his head above the water behind Dalis, then he grabs her ankle and goes under water again. Dalis screams, loses her balance, and falls into the water right on top of Troy. Troy comes up for air, but Dalis doesn't. Tucker, waiting to see Dalis come up, is starting to get worried.*

Tucker: "Troy, where's Dalis?!?!?!?!"

Troy: "I don't know. She fell off, landed on me, and then went under."

*Tucker is searching the water, looking for the slightest sign of Dalis. Troy swims to the shore because Jonathan is calling him.*

Jonathan: "Troy, you have to help Tucker find Dalis. He's about to freak out. I can tell by his body language. You have to help him!"
