Helping the Brotherhood soldiers wasn't exactly on the top of my priority list. However, in order to get the information Nick and I needed from their terminal, I had to help Paladin Danse and his two comrades with their situation.

Scribe Haylen helped Knight Rhys up and to the door of the station. Nick and I followed Paladin Danse inside. Haylen leaned Rhys against the wall and he sat down with a grunt.

"You gonna patch me up or what?" he asked.

"I don't know," she replied teasingly, "your prognosis looks pretty grim. Might be more humane to just take you out back and shoot you."

He chuckled, holding onto his ribs. "You're all heart, doc."

"Just quit squirming so I can get these bandages on."

Paladin Danse exited his power armor, revealing the orange jumpsuit he was wearing, which was the same as Knight Rhys'. It reminded me of my vault suit.

Danse was one hell of a large man; his muscle definition was well defined in the jumpsuit, whose fabric stretched in protest like it was going to pop any second. Danse looked over the counter on the far side of the room to look for medical supplies, and I couldn't help but notice the incredible detail of his ass through the jumpsuit. There were so many various straps and fittings on the suit; there seemed to be one going right up his —

Nick nudged me when he realized I was staring.

"There's some Stimpaks and other gear on the counter here," said Danse. "Feel free to take whatever you need for the mission. I'll be right outside when you're ready." He gave some supplies to Haylen, then he re-entered his power armor. He picked up his helmet from the side table by the door and put it on, completing the set for maximum protection.

Danse left the building. As I gathered up some supplies, a tense silence filled the room. Nick was unhappy about the fact that I was making him wait at the police station with Danse's two friends while I paraded around the Commonwealth with a Brotherhood Paladin. Also, I could feel Rhys's eyes on me. I glanced over at him. His expression went sour.

"You think you're a hot shot?" he asked abrasively.

I was caught off guard by the sudden verbal attack.

"Say something, damn it."

I scoffed. "Go fuck yourself."

"Learn your place, scavver," he barked. "You're hired help, and that's all there is to it."

"Rhys..." Haylen pinched the bridge of her nose and closed her eyes.

I just waved a dismissive hand at him. "If that's what you think."

"Damn right it is. Now why don't you run off and see if Top needs you to do anything else?"

"You're lucky I don't have it in me to hit a man when he's down." I turned and let myself out, slamming the door behind me.

Nick was hot on my heels though. He ran out after me.

I stomped down the steps of the Cambridge Police Station and toward Danse, who was standing at the front entrance of the makeshift defensive walls.

Nick growled in frustration when he caught up with me. "You're really gonna make me sit back and wait on you with these clowns in there?"

"Nick, we need to get into that terminal, and they're guarding the information. If you have to, wait outside."

He grumbled, "Fine. But just so you know, I'm not exactly a happy camper." He took a seat on the bottom step and lit a cigarette.

Haylen walked out of the building behind Nick. "Hey, sorry about the guys. They can be a pain."
