Quin's POV
I kept walking and walking and walking. I was in shock. Completely disoriented. Suddenly someone ran into me knocking me over.
"Watch it! Oh....Quin, are you ok?" I looked up to see Moira. I stared blankly up at her. She helped me up. I noticed a letter in her pocket.
"What's that?" I asked, already knowing the answer.
"An invitation to a game...." she say pulling it out of her pocket.
I smiled and pulled mine out, "maybe we can go together," I said. Moira nodded. "We can go on style~" I added.
"Magic?" Moira smirked.
"Magic," I smirked back. We started walking back to the village houses talking about the new chapter of "Apocalyptic".
"I died when they killed off Aliya!" Moira exclaimed. She was hugging the book to her chest. Our books are magic, whenever a new chapter is released more pages are added with the text on them.
"I hope that Miss Hexifur updates her book "How it all began" soon. It's been shelved for a while...." I said. Moira nodded.
"That Dante character though is soooooo cliche, like come on!" Moira said rolling her eyes. I nodded.
"Do you think we'll still be able to read when we're at the game?" I asked. Moira shrugged.
"I guess we'll find out on the 14th, anyways bai!" Moira waved and walked away to her house. I smiled, as I knew she would of missed dinner so I slipped a packagsed beef pie into her book bag along with a lemon tart.
I walked farther down the street passing out some food that I hadn't sold today or didn't turn out the best, but the kids and homeless still enjoyed them.
"Thank you again miss," Jefferson said eating an over cooked potato pie.
"It's no problem really Mr Lake, but I may not be around until this time next year so I'll be sending food for you all when I can," I smiled as I handed a small girl and boy, both with dirty blonde hair, a muffin each.
"I'm sorry to hear that, you must be going to the palace, your father will be so proud, anyway cheero, and thanks for the pie," Jefferson nodded tipping his hat to me and sat down to eat. I smiled to myself and kept walking until I reached my house.
"Dad! I'm home!" I called out as I opened the door. I was greeted my Bean my little birman kitten. I picked him up. "Were you good to day~" I cooed, giving him a special pancake made for cakes.
"You spoil him to much my dear," a voice said from behind me.
"His dad," I said putting Bean down. "I got this from a palace woman today," I said giving him the letter. I read through it and smiled sadly.
"Oh my little enchantress, you've got another thing on your plate now..." dad sighed. "First your mother, than all those suiters, and now you are going to the palace to win over those high horsed princes, you know what happen to your mother in their....in stead of marrying that prince she ran away with me," he put his hand on my cheek. "You look so much like her."
I smiled, "thanks dad, do you think Moira and I could use magic to get there, just to annoy the otger girls." I asked. Dad snickered.
"Of course, and you can even take Bean," he smiled. I hugged him.
"Thanks dad, by the way is there any food left?" I asked.
Dad mocked me, "I thought you were going to bring home one of your wonderful pies~" I shook my head. "Aw....but they're so gooooood!"
I giggled, "but I want calimari, I even bought the ingredients for you to cook with." My dad pouted.
"Fine my little jack-o-lantern, but next time you're bring home a pie!" He said taking the groceries from me and walked into the kitchen grumbling to himself.
