Not being in the comfort of my own hut caused me to toss and turn half the night. Finally I just decided to sit up and Moni was looking at the moon. "Did you know that's she's the cause for a lot of things that happen? Like being in love." At first I was confused in who she was talking about.

"You know that's just a story Moni."

"It's more than just a story, she's the reason we have love and are able to give it freely. Everyone has an equal that person is supposed to match you in every way." I rolled my eyes

"Moni you're seventeen I think you have more than enough time to find someone and not because of some silly story you've heard and definitely not because of some moon." She was silent and then I heard her shuffle a little.

"I told someone that exact same thing I had trouble believing it too until I found my equal." She was so young and she thought she was already in love? I scrunched up my eyebrows curious as to who it was.

"May I ask who he is?"

"That doesn't matter. Amour don't be blind by your own self conscious. Take the stories you hear into consideration. There are great things in this world you have to be open to the possibilities. Be open to the possibility that your equal is out there you're still young you know." She gave me a look and turned over to lay down. I was left to my thoughts again. How could I believe in something that I already knew wasn't true. It's not possible to just be magically matched with someone. It's nowhere near that simple, it takes time and effort. Things do happen for a reason but I don't think it's because of someone else pulling the strings. We are in charge of the choice we make, our life is our own. I just couldn't lower myself to believe in stories that were just to tell the kids. Even if I tried my body won't let me neither will my mind

We got up extra early to continue our walk and it was now around noon. My mind kept going back to the conversation between Moni and I. I couldn't understand why she felt the need to share those things with me. I wanted to ask her why we even had that conversation but I didn't realize Bastian was next to me.

"You really love pushing people's buttons."

"I'm not pushing anything." I said as we kept walking.

"If you weren't you wouldn't be here right now. You would be with your brothers and Cthylla."

"Cthylla is the reason we are out here she could have made this all go away."

"You do realize we have a certain way of doing things right? You're letting this and Rayo get to you stop being stubborn and head strong for once." He snapped at me and we both stopped walking.

"Stubborn? They sent us out here knowing the potential consequences and you have the nerve to call me stubborn and head strong?" We now had everyone's attention.

"No one told you to come remember? Amour you choose to try and get your way of things and prove a point and for what? To help your ego get bigger than his?"

"Guys." I head Moni say but I ignored her.

"You have some nerve. The only reason I came is because I didn't want you to go through this alone!"

"I didn't need you to come to help me! It would've been better knowing you'd stayed home!!" He yelled at me

"Guys." Moni said again.

"I can't believe you right now."

"GUYS!" Our heads snapped in her direction. It got very quiet then we heard a low rumble. It was like a deep growl and everyone pulled out a weapon. The growl out louder and I froze. "Run." Bastian said, he grabbed my hand and we took off. It literally felt like the ground was shaking, whatever was chasing us was huge. I turned to look back only to have my body be knocked away from Bastians. My body collided into a tree and I landed on my stomach. "Amour!" A faint growl was creeping but I couldn't open my eyes. I heard Moni scream in fear and everything in me wanted to get up. Whatever hit me knocked the wind out of me. I gathered enough energy to try to get up but a forced knocked me back down. The pressure was almost unbearable my back was surely to break if anymore was added. Slowly opening my eyes I seen nothing but a large fury grey head came down showing nothing but teeth as it continued to growl at me. Hoping my eyes were deceiving me it nearly roared and I let out a horrified scream. A thump sound was heard and the creature whimpered. The pressure on my back was gone but my body still shook with fear.

"Amour?" Zae came and knelt done beside me. "Can you move?" I couldn't move my arm.

"My arm." I told him as tear ran down my face. He quickly helped me up looking around to see if it was coming back.

"Where are the others?"

"Moni and Bastian are hiding and I don't know where Sadi is. He tried to go after one. "

"How many are there?" Instead of answering he pulled me to start walking. My mind was all over the place and I could barely comprehend was was happening right now. Finally we found Bastian and Moni but Sadi was still missing. Moni had an open gash on her back that looked like large claw marks. Bastian was trying to clean it as much as possible. Zae started to examine my arm.

"It's out of place I need to put it back." Bastian came and covered my mouth to keep me from making as much sound as possible. "On three okay?"

I nodded my head. "One..." then he popped it back, I was almost sure I could still be heard even with my mouth being covered.

"We need to go back.. n0w." Moni said and I couldn't have agreed more. This was beyond was I imagined. We all turned around and heart dropped to the pit of my stomach. Three of them stood less than ten feet away from us. The look on their faces said nothing but kill. One held what looked like an arm in its mouth and my stomach turned. The size of these things were able to put any animal to shame. This couldn't be real, they weren't real and yet three were standing right in front of me clear as day. Bastian grabbed my hand that was shaking rapidly.

"You guys run I'll cause a distraction." Moni whispered.

"No." Bastian told her

"If you have any other ideas let me know now." No one said anything, one of them took a step forward and we all stepped back.

"Amour?" She called my name and I turned slightly to look at her. "Kota." At first I was confused but the look she gave after saying his name said it all. He was the one she fell in love with. My eyes began to burn this was all too much.

"Run!" Everyone except her ran. You could practically hear the tearing of her flesh and the gurgling sounds she made. We ran in the direction of the village. But I slowly began to feel the ground shake again. They were coming and fast. The village felt so far away and my biggest fear was that we wouldn't make it there in time.
