Ryder Sullens.

Ryder Adam Sullens to be exact.

The kind, short boy, with freckles and bright blue eyes.

He had short red hair, extremely long on the top, that he kept up in a neat bun.

A soft voice and the most adorable laugh.

Feminine and sweet.

The nicest boy of the 11th grade. He doesn't deserve what they do to him.

"Matt! Over here!" My friend Kelsie shouted. I sighed and glanced at her as she ran over to me in the crowded hall. "You okay strawberry boy?"

That's my nickname. I've had it for years. Don't even remember where I got it.

"Yeah I'm okay. Don't you kinda feel bad for that red headed gay kid?"

"Not really. God hates him. So I do too."

"But. Nobody deserves to ge-" I stopped. I saw him. I blocked Kelsie out. He failed unlocking his locker and gave the lock and annoyed stare before trying again.

I bit my lip. I knew who was coming. I watched the group slip through the crowd. I could see over everybody. Being 6'7 in a school of mostly 5'5 people plays off well.

I wanted to step in. He got slammed against his locker. I couldn't hear anything. Thomas got up in his face, screaming at him. Shoving him back every time he tried to slip away.

I couldn't do anything. It was too crowded. I wouldn't be able to get to him. It was worth a try. I stepped forward trying not to hurt anyone as I pushed people out of my way. I pulled Thomas off of him and shoved him onto the ground. "Is there a problem blondie?"

He stared up at me as he stood up slowly. He's so predictable. It kills me. He pull his fist back and threw it forwards. I caught his hand a few inches from my jaw and twisted his arm. "Either walk away now, or somebody's gonna get hurt." I sighed.

He rolled his eyes and stepped back. He glanced at the two other boys before walking off, them not far behind him. I sighed and turned back to the scared red head behind me. He stared up at me in awe. "You okay sweetheart?"

"Uhm. Yeah." He grinned sweetly.

I opened my mouth to speak, being interrupted by the bell. I chuckled, "I'll see ya around. Feel free to hang with us any time." I smiled sincerely before walking off. I walked into 1st period and sat down in the back.

Everybody flooded in seconds later. And the second bell rang, signalling the start of class. But there's no sign of our math teacher, Mrs. Pelfrey.

I glanced around the room, Thomas is in there. Kelsie, Alan, Trace is absent today I guess, and an empty seat in the front row. I wondered who sat there.

I stood up and wandered off to a conversation circle. My group of jocks and cheerleaders, none of which were hot. I'm pretty sure I'm gay. With the way I feel towards Ryder I really could be.

I've felt that way for a year now. We all looked to the door as it opened quietly. The room went dead silent, everyone hoping it wasn't Mrs. Pelfrey. It wasn't. A bright eyed firmiliar face slipped in. He looked around. Nobody was in their seats. He saw me and grinned. My eyes widened as he started walking over and I shook my head.

I looked at my group, all of which were staring at me. "Hold on guys, I'll be right back."

"Wait. Matt. I think I like you." One off the cheerleaders grinned.

"Well I don't like you back." I said coldly before walking off. The group chuckled. I walked over to my seat and moved my stuff up to a seat behind the empty one, moving the person who had been sitting there's stuff to my old seat. I look at him and winked, he blushed and sat down in the empty seat. I glanced at my group. They weren't looking. "Don't come over there. They aren't the friendliest people." I sighed before walking back to the group.
