Briyanna’s P.O.V

As Niall put his hand over mine, I felt my still father squeeze my hand. My eyes shot up to Niall’s

"Dad?" I asked hopefully. His eyes slowly fluttered open a few seconds later.

"Briyanna?"

"Dad!" I exclaimed huggin him lightyly. It felt so good to hear his voice again.

"Where am I?" He asked looking around the room.

"You were in a plane crash." I told him as tears rolled down my cheeks.

"When?" He asked confused.

"About a week ago." I told him. His eyes shifted to Niall. He frowned. I grabbed Niall’s good hand and held it in mine. "Dad, this is Niall. He’s my boyfriend. I met him on the plane moving here."

"You moved here?" He asked not remembering.

"Nearly 6 months ago Dad." I told him a little upset at the extent of the memory loss.

"Oh. Where have you been living?" He asked skeptically eyeing Niall.

"I have an apartment with a friend." I told him trying to remove the hostility from his voice and face.

"Good." He said his face relaxing a little. His gaze fell upon our interlocked fingers. He looked up to meet Niall’s eyes.

"Tell me Niall. Do you love my daughter?" He asked playing the roll of the protective father.

"With all my heart sir." He said blushing and never breaking eye contact with him. He squeezed my hand.

"Have you had sex with her yet?" He asked unashamed. Niall’s eyes grew huge.

"Dad!" I said astounded by the forwardness of the question.

"What? I just wanted to know if my daughter is having sex with a boy I don’t even know!" He snapped at me.

"No. I’m not Dad. In fact, I plan on staying pure until marriage. But thanks for that." I felt Niall relax beside me knowing that he wanted to wait too.

"Good thing too. I would have to kick his ass." He said seriously.

"I love your daughter sir, I would never do anything to hurt her. I will protect her at all costs." Niall said glancing at me smiling. My dad just glared at him. I decided to change the subject to a lighter one.

"So, I’m thinking of going to university here." I said cheerfully turning his attention back to me.

"For law?" He asked hopefully.

"No Dad. For nursing."

"Why would you want to do that? Lawyers get paid more!" He said throwing the hand that wasn’t in a cast up above his head.

"The money doesn’t mean anything to me if I don’t have a passion for what I’m doing." I explained.

"Then save peoples lives from a life in prison!"

"Sir, I have more than enough money." Niall spoke up.

"What are you implying?"

"That I love your daughter." He said simply.

"So do I, and I decide what is best for her." Niall knew that he shouldn’t argue. Him and my father were not off to a good start.

"I only want what is best for her." Niall told him.

"Good." He said to him keeping his gaze intense.

"So where do you live?" He askes shifting his attention back to me.

"About 20 minutes away from your house."

"Good." Was all he said. He didn’t say anything about me moving in with him. This confused me but I didn’t question him. Niall gave me a questioning look and I knew he was just as confused as I was.

"Five minutes." The nurse said from the doorway. Niall and I nodded and she retreated.

"I have to ask Dad, where were you? Do you remember?" He frowned and then nodded slowly.

"Where were you?" He didn’t say anything for about a minute.

"Canada." He said finally.

"Where in Canada?" I asked.

"Edmonton." He said through clenched teeth.

"Why?" I asked extremely curious.

"To find your mother."

"Why would you want to do that?" I asked remembering the reason he moved here in the first place.

"I needed to… Talk to her." He said taking a long pause.

"What could possibly be that important that you had to fly half way across the world?" I asked bewindered.

"I wanted you to go back and live with your mother." He said. Tears filled my eyes.
