Niall’s P.O.V

I rushed out of my room when I heard a crash. I almost stepped on Briyanna who was lying on the floor. Zayn was already there about to pick her up.

“I have her.” I told him angry.

“It’s okay. Don’t worry about it.” He said bending over.

“Zayn, back off. She’s my girlfriend.” He got into my face and was about to say something when Liam intervened.

“Zayn, can I talk to you for a minute?” He asked from the end of the hall near the living room. Zayn sighed straightening up and walked away. I scooped Briyanna into my arms and I got Brandon on the phone. He had already been waiting. I was getting into the van when Louis and Zayn got in after me.

“You guys don’t have to come.” I said for some reason not wanting Zayn near her. I had never wanted to keep something from my best friends this much.

“It’s okay, we are ready anyways. Liam and Harry can meet us at the studio when they are ready.” I nodded keeping Briyanna on my lap as we drove to the hospital. The way Zayn eyed her, made me even angrier for some reason. I held her close to my body and got up and out of the van carefully trying not to jostle her. I walked swiftly up to the receptionist, she took one look at her and got us straight into a room and then had me explain.

“When did this start happening?”

“About last night at 3 o’clock.” I told her and filled in every detail to taking her here.

“Okay, can you guys wait outside while I check her?” We stepped outside reluctantly. Liam and Zayn took the chairs in the hall way across from her room and I paced back and forth in front of them and let my mind wander to the worst possibilities.

“Come on mate, stop pacing and sit down, she is going to be fine.” Liam said trying to comfort me.

“Don’t say that.” Zayn snapped. “She could be seriously sick.” He argued. I couldn’t stay there any longer. I walked straight past them to the bathrooms. I went to the sink and splashed some water on my face.

“What the Hell did you do to her?” I heard a voice ask from the door way.

“What are you talking about?” I asked Zayn.

“You had sex with her didn’t you?” He didn’t pause long enough for me to answer. “She is pregnant, isn’t she?”

“No of course not! We haven’t had sex!” I told him angry that he would accuse me of that. His face soothed a bit.

“I’m sorry man. This is just kind of stressing me out.” He ran a hand through his hair.

“How do you think I feel man? That’s my girlfriend in there and I am worried sick about her.” I said and he winced.

Before he could reply, Liam burst in the bathroom.

“They know what’s wrong.” Zayn and I followed him out into the hall and back towards the room where Briyanna was. She was awake. I walked straight to the bed and brushed the hair from her face.

“Are you okay?” I asked her. She nodded, even though she was usually a wonderful liar, I could tell she wasn’t. The nurse stepped forward.

“Briyanna has appendicitis and will need to have surgery. She is scheduled to have her appendix removed in one hour. Has she had anything to eat or drink since midnight?” She asked.

“Not a thing.” I told her not taking my eyes off of Briyanna.

We got some extra chairs into the room and I took one closest to Briyanna’s head. I held her hand and rubbed circles on it with my thumb. I knew it relaxed her. I sat there silently watching Briyanna sleep as the boys talked quietly beside me.

“Niall.” I heard Louis say from right beside me. I turned my head to him.

“We cancelled the events for the next week. No interviews, signings or rehearsals.”

“Thank you.” I told him touched. He knew that I wouldn’t want to leave Briyanna’s side in this state. I turned back to Briyanna. He chucked softly and ruffled my hair. I fixed it with my free hand and got up.

“I will be right back you guys.” I told them before leaving the room. I made my way down the hall that I had been down a few days prior. I knocked on the door before I heard a rough voice.

“Come in.” I walked in at the allowance. His face hardened when he saw me. “What do you want?”

“I thought you should know Briyanna is here.” His eyes lightened when I said this.

“Where? Why isn’t she here with you?” He asked looking behind me.

“She is in a room of her own waiting to have her appendix removed.” His eyes darkened again.

“How long has she been here?”

“About an hour and 45 minutes.” I told him.

“Why didn’t you come tell me sooner?” He snapped at me.

“I’m sorry sir; I didn’t want to leave her. I thought you should know though so I came.”

“Damn right I should know. You should have come to tell me as soon as you got here.”

“I didn’t want to leave her.” I told him again. He glared at me.

“I don’t like you.” He said. I was very surprised at his forwardness.

“I wish you did sir, because I love your daughter. I will do everything I can do to be worthy of your liking.” I told him.

“Just tell me when Briyanna gets out of the surgery.” He said turning his head to the window. I backed out of the room and walked back to Briyanna’s. The nurse was about to transfer her to a mobile bed. I helped her lift her and put her onto the bed. Briyanna woke up at the movement. She looked around confused.

“It’s time to go for the surgery.” For the first time since I had met her, she looked scared. “Don’t worry babe. I will be there when you fall asleep and when I wake up.”

“Promise?” She asked.

“I promise.”

“Thank you.” She reached for my hand and I took it and we started down the hall way. We went to the surgery room and she stopped the boys and I.

“Only one person allowed. Your choice Miss. McDonald.” The nurse told her.

“Niall.” She said without hesitation. I walked into the room behind the bed and the nurse. I grabbed the hand the I.V. wasn’t plugged into. I kissed her lips lightly right before the nurse positioned the medicine in the I.V.

“I love you Bri.”

“I love you too Niall.” She said before her eyes slowly closed.
