Chapter IV

"I saw my family again...I saw them...But it was too perfect....I awoke after I heard Ben's voice..He told me to come home."



"When I awoke I found myself entirely naked, my hands were strung up and I dangled above the ground by my wrists. I was in a cell..."


"Lu Wei came to me..."

"I asked her why she didn't kill me...I asked her why I saw my family.. Lu Wei didn't look at me, she looked at the ground.. So it is true.. She said.."

"You saw them, that means you are still weak. You will never be the weapon the Hand..That I wanted you to be...You will never kill....I remember when you nearly killed your opponent in the duel...You stopped his pulse...we found him alive...."


"How come you didn't kill me then? How come you're doing this now? Why am I here?" I cried out to her..


"You are going to be sacrificed to the Beast....otherwise we will all suffer due to your betrayal...Poison, we serve the Beast, he is our Lord. Dishonor God by destroying what he's made..that is what we do my daughter....And you have dishonored not only me, but the Hand..and the Beast. The penalty is death...But....I too... I.."

Lu Wei began to show emotion...I had never seen her do that before..


"You are my child, I cannot kill you. But I will sacrifice myself. If I die, you will be forgiven, and the Hand will not Hunt you, The Beast will wipe their minds..You will be forgotten...and, You will have freedom...and a place in this Universe...My child. But you must promise me one thing..."



"Promise me that you will stay true, that you will use your power....the way it was intended to be used. Promise me you will be accountable for your actions..My daughter, I have seen many great warriors in my time and lifespans..but you, you have a power I have never seen in a warrior....You have compassion..which I believed to be a weakness...but without your compassion, I would have never found you. Which is why I show compassion to you today....


Lu Wei handed me a pair of robes and set me free. The Hand instantly removed me from the cell and drug me out of the facility...They took Lu Wei and brought her to the beast..she was eaten. I never saw her again..Lu Wei was no angel, but she was the closet thing I'll ever have to my own mother.


They bathed me in red water, it hurt, it felt like it was burning my skin off..I felt as if sandpaper had been rubbed all over my body....When the ritual was finished, they drugged me...I awoke in a hotel room in NYC...I had on the robes.. beside me was a case, inside the case I found Lu Wei's money, her lifetime savings...I looked around and saw the room filled with more cases, more money..on one of the cases was a letter...I opened it...it read:



"My child, if you are reading this, I have been sacrificed...I want you to take my earthly belongings. Do with them what you wish, they are now yours....But, I ask one thing...find yourself..find your family. I love you my dear....thank you for showing me what compassion is...I hope you travel far and become a strong warrior and even stronger woman. May we meet in the next incarnation...Remember, stay true to who you are..*
