Hurt by you [ Eddie Brock ]

3. Delusional

  I'm feeling all the heat, they're gonna hear my call
Now I can wait to see you lose it all  

"Eddie Brock...? Are you talking about that Eddie Brock? From The Eddie Brock Show?" I heard Sidney gasp as I collected the ingredients for our dinner. 

Sidney was my neighbour who immediately showed me around the city as I moved here. I didn't even get a chance to refuse her offer, she even helped me to pack all my things out of those boxes so we could finish faster then I would've done it all alone. We met almost everyday in the building, so I couldn't avoid her if I wanted to. 

Her and Julian were my friends, and I was happier then I expected. But that had been destroyed at the moment when I met Eddie. I told Sidney what happened in the restaurant, but this time I told her his name. Until now all Sidney knew that I had a rough past behind myself, but now I needed to let it all out, so I told her everything she needed to know to understand my feelings. 

The only thing I didn't expect was her being one of his show's watchers. Other than that... I didn't have problem. 

"Oh, so you've heard about him." I pressed my lips together as I chopped the onions into pieces, she sat down next to my counter, just to be closer to me. I was trying to make her favorite meal, chicken-mushroom quesadillas, but I wasn't that talented when it came to cooking, fortunately she didn't judge. 

"Like everyone in San Francisco" Sidney rolled her eyes as I shook my head, and  started heating the oil in a large frying-pan. 

I raised my eyebrows. "Oh, great."

"His show is one of the most watched ones here, that man really understands his job." she stated and I gave her a harsh glare. "Sorry, I know, I'm not helping. I'm just... I can't believe he used to be your bully in high school, it's so unbelievable. He is such a sweetheart on screen."

"Welcome to the real world."  I added the onions and mushrooms while Sidney searched after Eddie on my laptop. "Nothing is what it's look like, especially if we talk about Eddie Brock. Don't be delusional. " 

"Well, maybe your wish had been heard... They are rumoring his show got cancelled." she told me after reading an article. I just shrugged as I continued cooking. 

"Karma's a bitch, I bet he crossed the line, like he always does."

Sidney leaned back into her seat. "Someone said that he got fired."

"I'm not suprised, I would fire him if he was working for me." I said coldly, looking at her over my shoulder. 

"He just got divorced also." she told me silently and I slowly stopped moving. I turned back to Sidney who was staring at my laptop's screen.

"I didn't know he was married."

"He wasn't, they were just engaged." 

"And that all happened just now?" I gestured with the wooden spoon between my fingers. Sidney slowly nodded, then closed my laptop. 

I turned back to the pan, and continued my thing while my mind went somewhere else. Even though I hated Eddie with all my heart, and my mind said that he deserved that, my heart felt sorry for him. Losing his job and his fiancée at the same time could be a really hard hit, no matter who we were talking about.  

"Well, life maybe turned on him finally." I kept my gaze on the pan while the ingredients heated. I know I was cold, but I had every right to feel the way how I felt. I always hoped him or his friends would get back all the bad things they have done not only to me, but to anybody else, and maybe my time finally came.
