One year later

Gabriel

Everything was peaceful. I watched Harkin play around in the yard, butterflies were all around. I couldn't remember the last time I had seen so many.

He jumped and skipped, laughing as his hair flew around. He was growing normally now that he had turned four. He looked like any normal four year old, aside from the fact that he can run like a vampire and hear and see better than humans and also, if he wanted, he could carry me around.

He hadn't started asking for blood or biting people but his fangs were growing. Slowly, but they were. They mostly showed when he ate which I felt was alright since, he would see cereal and they would pop up. It was cute actually.

I was working on my petition for an all supernatural school to the Supreme Council. It was finally running, with brand new members from all species. Some whom I knew, like Carrin who was Elijah's sister in-law. She represented the panther population which had noe had a protection order. Anyone who hurts a panther, was in danger of getting a 15 year sentence in a prison specially designed for supernatural people.

There was a man who was apparently Fraden's uncle, he wasn't very nice, he represented the humans. I had met him once, at Linus's wedding three months ago. Yeah, they got married.

There was also Xavier who was for the Casters. Theodore said he had had enough of supernatural politics to lat him a life time and was instead somewhere in Africa at the moment with his family, enjoying peace and quiet.

I didn't know whom else was on it but, yeah, that sums it up. Dante sat beside me and I recalled how they had wanted him to take a position in the council for the vampires to which he declined, wanting to be with Harkin and I which I told him was stupid cause he could at least make a difference but he was stubborn so whatever.

We watched Harkin play with smiles. This life was honestly really beautiful and peaceful. There wasn't any threat to anyone we know or love and there wasn't the constant need to move around, finding out what was happening and why. We were just...living, as much as we can, as beautifully as possible and I loved it. Until Dante opened his mouth.

"Why don't we get Harkin a sibling?" I reared my head back and looked at the man like he had gone crazy.

"Excuse me?" I said to him and he laughed. "I know you aren't asking me to get pregnant again because boy...I will stab you." I threatened and scoffed. No way was I having another kid, not after how Harkin made his debut into the world.

"I don't think I can handle that type of thing happening again either." He laughed and wrapped his arms around me and I looked at him, scoffing.

"I should get you pregnant so you know how it feels." I grumbled and he laughed at me, kissing my ear.

"We can try...if you like." He nibbled on my ear and I shivered.

"You are playing with fire." I comment knowing I haven't actually shoved my dick into the mans ass and the thought was suddenly very appealing.

"Later," he laughed. "I was actually talking about adopting." I looked at him and smiled.

"Are you serious?" I chuckled. "Most orphanages house humans... I don't think bringing in a human baby would be such a good idea."

"Why not?" He pouted. "I think it would be great."

"Yeah? What happens of Harkin is too rough? Hmm? And the poor child ends up with something broken...or worse!" I sighed. "If we want to adopt, we better look for supernatural kids, fill this place up with them if need be."

"Why must you try and get so many of them? I suggested adopting! Not turning this place into a save the abandoned supernatural." I felt myself purse my lips and I looked at Dante liking the idea of taking in kids who were abandoned by their parents.

"Why don't we?" He groaned. "Think about it... Not only will Harkin have friends! We will be saving lives!" I thought of how in the past, supernatural kids forced to grow up on their own or around humans had been abandoned and turned evil, wanting to ruin everything and everyone in their paths. "We could make a difference here, Dante."

"I'm starting to question why I opened my mouth to begin with." A body slammed into my panting and I laughed down at Harkin who hand a butter fly sitting on his head.

"Hey baby," I kissed his forehead and the insect flew away. "How would you like a little brother or sister?" He blinked at me and frowned.

"Don't want." He pouted and I chuckled.

"Why not?"

"Cause I enough." He huffed and sat in my lap comfortably and I looked at Dante who smirked.

"Looks like you can't."

"But baby," I tried again. "Don't you want someone who will play with you? Who you can run around with when daddy is too tired or papa is far away?" He pursed his lips and looker towards the butterflies which I'm surprised hadn't flown away.

"But then...you will have too much work." He widened his eyes at me. "Me plus another me..." He shook his head. "Not good for daddy." He patted my shoulder. "Safe if only me." Then glanced at my stomach then his papa. "No make another me. K?" He said firmly and my brows shoot up as I looked at Dante who was also stunned.

"Okay..." I said slowly. "How about we adopt?" He bit his lip.

"Daddy..." He sighed. "You love me?"

"Of course," I hugged him with a frown.

"Then why you want another me!?" He said frustrated. "Just love me, and we be okay. K?"

"Harkin..." I sighed then and nodded not sure how I was supposed to continue this topic. He kissed my cheek and pulled on my arm along with Dante.

"Now we play!" He laughed and tagged me before running away full speed and I turned to try and tag, Dante but he also sped away with a laughter.

"That's not fair! You guys are fast." I pouted then and ran like the human I was. I huffed wishing I had the advantage of magic, but nope. I wasn't so lucky.

I huffed and puffed as I chased them. Harkin running slow enough for me to catch up and then dodging me at full speed.

This kid, though!? Dante allowed me to tag and when he chased me I knew it was giving him excitement to make me believe I could get away until finally he tackled me to the ground in a fit of laughter. He kissed me gently.

"Your it." He laughed and jumped up while I sat up to look at them, breathing heavily.

My family... They were just perfect.
