My eyes flutter open, adjusting themselves to the sudden brightness. Where am I and why is there so much junk lying around? Call me crazy, but this junk seems a little familiar...I'm sure it's nothing. Ugh, I'm so tired. How long have I been sleeping? It feels like forever. Must've been one heck of a power nap, what year is it?
I manage to sit up. I notice a strange lump under the sheets where my left leg is. It almost feels like-
All of a sudden, the door slides open- W-Wait...mom?! Why- How did she-... "M-Mother?"
She smiles with tears in her eyes, "Y/n!" She runs to me and embraces me.
"Oh my gosh! Mom!" Tears stream down my face. "I missed you so much!"
"I know sweetie, I know." She strokes the back of my head.
"How are you here? Where's dad? I thought-"
"Y/n, that's not important. What's important is I'm with you now, and I'll never leave you." I smile. "So," she pulls away from me, "how have you been? Who've you met?"
"You'll never believe it mom, I teamed up with Voltron! Everyone's so nice here, they make me feel like family. It was hard living on my own without you guys and they made it easier."
"I'm glad to hear it, honey." Her face brightens.
"Oh wait, you probably already know that, considering we're in the castle of lions." I laugh.
"Yep. I couldn't believe it myself."
"So, how did you get here?"
"Listen Y/n, I don't have much time."
My face sinks, "W-What? But you just got h-"
"I know, sweetie, I wish I could stay longer. But you must understand, you're in danger."
"Danger?!"
"Yes, you and the paladins."
"I...I don't understand. What's going to happen?"
"I'm sorry baby, I have to leave now."
"Wait, mom! I thought you were never going to leave me! Please, don't leave!!"
~
"Y/n!" I'm shaken awake.
"Mom, wait!!" I yell. I am suddenly embraced by someone.
"Y/n, your mom isn't here. It's Pidge." I feel tears fall down my face. "I know you miss them."
I hug Pidge back tightly as I feel my body tremble in my effort to hold back my crying, "I just...I-I wish I could see her again."
Pidge lets go, "I know how you feel. I miss my dad, a lot."
I wipe my nose with my arm, "Y-Yeah, I guess so."
She looks to the side, "Also...I was the one helping you recover so..."
"Wait, recover? Is that why..." I look down at my leg. I lift up the sheets to find a robotic leg attached to where my left leg is supposed to be. "W-What?!" I start to feel nauseous.
"You leg was shot off when you were rescuing Lance, I don't blame you for not remembering, you lost a lot of blood-"
"Lance! Is he okay?"
"He's doing fine. He actually just recently got out of a healing pod." I sigh out of relief.
I look down at my non-existent leg. I gulp, I feel like I'm gonna throw up. My leg is gone! My poor lefty. Although the robotic look looks cool, my leg was replaced by cold, hard metal!
