Violette glanced up from staring at the food on her plate. Her eyes went towards Lucián who was sitting on the other end of the table. He was busy eating to even notice how uncomfortable she was with the food placed on her plate.
She sighed as she poked her food with a fork. I've never eaten such thing in my entire life. Lucián was smirking the whole time. He wanted her to eat what typical Filipinos would or rather the most distasteful food he could ever think of.
He stopped eating and asked her, "What's the matter, amor? Have you lost your appetite for your favorite dish?" He grinned afterwards. He wanted to laugh at her the more he sees her reaction.
The grip on the fork she was holding tightened as she tried not to curse because of a presence nearby. The maids were passing by the dining room and she wouldn't want to be questioned even more. This guy is unbelievable.
She forced a smile before saying, "I'm just not used to this kind of food. In my time, the food there is a lot better than what you have here in the past. No offence to you but it's too plain and pathetic for me to eat my food and whatever you can offer."
A smirk was forming on her face that caused him to glare at her. "If you're considered rich here, in my time, you're a peasant. I wouldn't want to waste food so maybe you could eat it instead. I mean you wouldn't have offered me something you don't eat."
He slammed his hand on the table and replied, "How dare you label me as a peasant? You should be thankful I'm treating you like an average person right now but your attitude is clearly making me change my mind."
She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms over her chest before saying, "I have way more money that even your existence is too cheap for me to even consider buying."
She was trying to make him feel irritated. She hated how he started treating her and playing with her mind lately. He let out a sarcastic laugh and said, "Of course. You're very wealthy. I think your arrogance consumed you that resulted for you to claim these illusions."
She looked towards the painting of the last supper and suddenly remembered how she got in this situation. Tala? I'm so dumb that I've forgotten what I came here for.
A theory came into her mind upon remembering how Lucián seemed fond of dogs. "You stole my dog, didn't you?" she blurted out causing Lucián to almost choke on his food.
He was frozen in shock as he looked at her with wide eyes. He slowly shook hid head and said, "O-Of course not. Do I seem like a thief to you? I can clearly afford anything I could ever want."
"Hmm? You sure about that? You are acting nervous. The tone of your voice clearly gave it away. So it would be better if you just admit the truth, thief."
"This bold attitude of yours is clearly making my head ache. It's no wonder you're not considered as a lady because of your big mouth." His statement started a new argument.
"Excuse me? If you can talk as much as you want, why couldn't I?"
"Dear, you are not royalty for me to bow down and treat you better than I treat myself. You should take time to take a look in the mirror to see what I meant."
"Shut your mouth. You look better with it. I could have fallen in love with you at first sight but the very moment you opened your mouth, it made me want to punch you in the face."
"Punch me? Ah, primitive creatures such as you are too violent for me. It would be best to throw you out into the streets and let you join your peers."
"Ang daldal mo talaga. Nakakairita. (You talk way too much. It's irritating)" Her statement made him look at her in confusion. He couldn't understand the language she used.
