I was chasing that damn Minotaur. Where'd it go? It couldn't have gone far. I was trying to keep pace with it so I didn't lose it. Oh how fun that worked out.
"Damn it! I'll lose it at this rate!" I yelled in frustration. I suddenly hear a horrified scream in the distance. Found ya bastard! I race to where the scream had come from. I see it's horns and I immediately jump on to it's back. I strike it with my lance then finish the job with decapitating the thing. I turn to see the corpse and I see a random girl sitting there. Was she the one screaming? Can't she defend herself? Well, props to her for finding it for me.
"Hey, you can get up now. The bastard's dead." I say to her.
"Dead..? You killed it..?" She says in a shaky voice. Is she blind or something?
"Well duh. Weren't you watching? And you obviously didn't defend yourself." I say in an annoyed tone. Who is she and why the hell is she out here alone?
"Hey, girl, why are you out here alone anyways? Don't you have a squad?" I ask.
"Squad? No, I have no idea where I am or what you're talking about." She says to me with a worried look on her face. Great. A girl who doesn't know what she's doing and I got separated from my squad. What a great day.
"Mind telling me your name first girlie?" I ask her.
"It's Polaris. Polaris Sakura."
"Name's Juniper, nice to meet ya." I say in a friendlier tone. I feel like I've heard that family name somewhere though..
"Are there more monsters?" She says and interrupts my thoughts.
"Of course there are. So, we better get moving Lari." I say and start picking up my spear.
"Lari..?" She says in a confused voice. Does she not like that nickname? Well she'll just have to deal with it.
"Yea, I called you Lari. Problem with that?"
"No.. I've just never been called that before."
"Well, get used to it. I'm taking you to a safer place than this so get moving." I say as I begin walking towards the direction of the school.
"Coming!" She yells and catches up with me. Jeez, this girl really is clueless. I'll just take her to the school and get back to class. She'll be fine on her own right..? Or so I thought. Once we got there, I was appointed as her tour guide. I have to miss magic class for this? Really? She doesn't even know what any of this stuff means!
"Lari, are even from around here? It's like you've never learned our language." I say in an annoyed tone.
"Well... uh... that's because I'm not." She says nervously.
"Wait, you're really not from this world? Are you..?" I say staring at her. I knew something wasn't right! There's no way she would've gone to our school and been out there alone. I should've seen it coming...
