After calling the ambulance and waiting for them to arrive Zach called your parents as well. He ended up calling the boys saying he wasn't going to be home tonight and explained the situation the boys were going to meet him at the hospital. He ended up riding in the back of the ambulance holding your hand all the way there whispering sweet things into your ear. He didn't understand why you did it or what made you come to the conclusion of self-harming.
He paced back and forth in the hospital feeling the tears falling down his own rosy cheeks as he looked over at his friends.
"Zach please sit down I'm sure the doctor will come out soon to give you answers" Daniel looked at his best friend with sad eyes not used to seeing him this way. "I know you don't want to leave y/n and you're not... just process this Zach you've been pacing for twenty minutes".
Zach looked up at Daniel his chocolate brown eyes glossy "how? how did I not see the pain she was in? how did I not know my own girlfriend was wanting to hurt herself... what did I miss?" he whispers letting himself be hugged by Jack he hated not having answers.
"Nobody knew Zach only she can show us the emotions she wants us to see" Jack whispers wiping his eyes.
The doctor came out with medical files and made his way over the group taking a seat beside them. He could tell in Zach's eyes that this was painful.
"Y/n's parents have given me permission to share this information with you all... this isn't the first y/n has done something like this. A couple of years back she had done this multiple times and was getting therapy for it and she was even on high dosage medication" the doctor explained looking between the group. "She suffers from depression and anxiety which can lead to having suicidal thoughts and having temptations to harm herself. It affects people differently some people don't harm themselves but have more panic attacks. Then you have others that do take their emotions out on their bodies" the doctor looked between the boys. "Y/n is safe her cuts have been stitched up, she's talking to her parents and then you can go in one at a time".
Zach listened to every single word biting his bottom lip "what's going to happen to her afterwards?" he looked at him before shaking his hand "thank you for everything".
"She can choose whether she needs therapy or would like medication for it, but the offer has been given to her" The doctor shook his hand before leaving.
After talking to your parents and letting them go off to get you something to eat you looked at the bandages on her arms sighing in defeat before you heard the door open and there stood your boyfriend. His hair messy, his cheeks puffy, his eyes bright red. He was a mess which made you only feel more guilty.
"Hey" Zach pulled up a chair sitting beside you, but that just only made you burst into tears.
"I understand if you don't wanna be with nut case anymore Zach" you cry looking down at your hands finding hard to give him eye contact.
"Oh y/n I'd never leave you god never ever would I leave you" Zach whispers wiping your eyes gently and taking your hand very carefully. "I love you so so much baby, you are going through something tough and I wanna help you through it and your not a nut case at all you are just in a vulnerable position".
You looked at him biting your bottom lip "I'm sorry Zach... for you finding me, for scaring you" your voice was raspy and sore from crying so much.
Zach looked at her "baby just one thing... what made you do this again?" he kissed your knuckles looking into your eyes seeing all the pain and sadness behind them.
"I was stressed with work, I've been overly insecure... I keep being terrified of leaving the house or I slowly panic when I'm not with you or when I have to leave my apartment. I just wanted all the feelings to go away" you whisper looking down.
Zach didn't ask any more questions he didn't need to. He just held her hand looking at his girlfriend. "Y/n I love you more than anyone, you mean the world to me and you make my world complete every day when I hear your voice through the phone or when I see you in person everything just feels complete. When we go out and I can show you off or when I call you my girlfriend to friends and family I get this proud feeling and I feel so lucky to have you and call you to mine" He looked into your eyes. "Once we leave the hospital and you finish therapy or what you decide to do, we're going to go away together for a few weeks just me and you I want to show you how amazing you really are" he whispers resting his forehead against yours.
At that moment you knew that Zach Herron was yours for keeps and was the one that you never ever wanted to let down again. He was your rock and you wanted to grow old with him.
"I love you, Zachary Dean Herron, forever" I whisper staring into his eyes.
