"What is going on here?!"
One month and a half later.
Grace's Point of View:
I was finally getting enough energy to wake up... I had been hearing people speak so I'm guessing I wasn't dead. From the little information I knew, I figured that I was in a come. That would explain why I couldn't move or speak.
I heard the door open, and the lights turned on. I tried to move my hand to cover my eyes, but it was hard.
"Oh, sorry. I'll turn a couple lights off," a girl spoke. After the room dimmed down, she spoke again, "Hi, Lucas. My name is Nurse Emma," the young nurse spoke to me.
I smiled, but then looked at her confusedly. Who's Luke? I tried to speak but my throat was rough and dry.
"Don't strain yourself. You've been in a coma, do you remember anything from your accident?" She asked.
I tried to remember what had happened, but I just remembered talking with someone on the phone. Everything else after that was a blur. I shook my head 'no.'
She nodded, "That's normal, you've been resting for three months. Do you know your name?"
This, I knew, "Grace Andrews." I spoke, as best as I could.
She gave me a sad smile, "You're name is Lucas, Lucas Benjamin Evans." Whoa there, Emma. I'm pretty sure my name is Grace. Who's this 'Luke' person they keep talking about?
I tried to convince her, "My name's Grace, not Luke."
She patted my shoulder, "'Grace' is a girls's name, not a boy's. You're a boy, and your name is Lucas. Don't worry, hopefully, you'll start remembering soon."
Hold on, hold on. What the hell do you mean by 'I'm a boy?'
I hoped that the bathroom had a mirror, so I could see what the heck she was talking about, "C-can..I-I," I tried speaking, but my throat was still dry, "toilet?"
"No, you don't have the doctor's permission to stand up yet. You have a tube connected, though," she spoke. You want me too pee... in a tube? That might have been alright before, but I don't think I could now... especially if she was watching me.
I just nodded my head 'okay.'
"You know, Luke," How many times do I have to tell you, Emma? My name's Grace and I'm a girl! "After this, we could go out for lunch, if you want." She said, getting closer to the bed.
"Friends," I nodded in agreement.
"No, maybe as something more than friends," She pouted. What the actual fuck is going on here? Sorry to break it to you, Emma, but I like boys.
"No, no, no," I declined, shaking my head.
"Fine!" She slammed the door on her way out.
What is going on here?
. . . .
Luke's Point of View:
"...and that's how you got in a coma, Honey," this guy spoke. Was he the doctor? I thought I drove the motorcycle?
"I've missed you, Grace!" A little boy spoke, and gave me a grin.
"Who's Grace?" I tried my best to speak.
I had most of my memory. I remembered up until Penny was calling; everything after that, was a complete blur.
The man spoke again, "You're 'Grace.'" He gave me a sad smile.
"No, I'm Luke," I tried to convince them. Who the hell was 'Grace?'
"No, no! You're Gracie," the little boy spoke, taking my hand. This time, I definitely shook him off. He had a sad expression, but, in my defense, I had absolutely no idea who these people were.
"It's alright, Aaron. Your sister just has to gain her memory back."
Sister? "I'm a boy."
They both shook their heads. "No, you're a girl, Gracie!" The little boy spoke.
No, I wasn't. I'm one-hundred percent sure.
I lifted my hospital pants a little, and shrieked. Where the hell is my 'little soldier'?! I had a... female private part. I feel like crying. He can't be gone! How am I supposed to pee?
What the hell is going on here?
