It's Definitely Weird

Sixteen: Grace (Part One)

"She actually slapped me."

I definitely wasn't going to walk in a neighborhood that I had no idea existed... but I also wasn't going to stay with that monster of Luke's mom.

I groaned. What was I going to do now?

I was about to turn around when I heard a voice calling me--well, Luke.

"Luke! Lukey, my love!" Someone yelled. Uh, were they calling me?

I looked around into the busy street, when someone waving caught my eye.

She came closer with the biggest smile on her face and the biggest fashion mistake of all time: neon. Neon everything.

"Baby! I missed you so much," she hugged me. She was much shorter than me; I almost forgot that I was really short myself. I really needed to get out of this body.

Bringing me back to the conversation, the girl continued, "I came to visit you because I heard you were back from the hospital." She grabbed both of my hands and stared at me, smile still intact.

"Uh..." I was about to explain that I didn't recognize her but she kept talking.

"My little honey boo, I couldn't visit you in the hospital because Eric wouldn't tell me your room number." she pouted, very unattractively, may I add.

Who was she?  Did Luke have a girlfriend?

"Look..." I tried to explain, taking her arms off me. People walking around us were giving me dirty looks.

She put one finger on my lips, shushing me, "No, no. There's no need to declare your love for me and tell me how much you missed me." She smiled, "We can do that when you take me out to dinner tonight."

What? Was she Luke's girlfriend or a gold digger?

"I forgot my credit cards at home, but you don't mind paying. Do you?" She pouted, trying to hug me again.

I shrugged her arms off of me again and asked, "Umm... Do I know you?"

She stared at me in disbelief and shock. She slowly raised her hand and slapped me.

She actually slapped me.
