Aren't children the purest little things? Absolutely vulnerable against the world around them. It's awfully sad, really.

I sighed and faced away from the playground, filled with children from what looks like ages 4-6 running around. I continued my slow walk to the world meeting. Which was held in America, of course. I was late, but I still don't see the reason to run.

I wonder why the world can't be like those children. So innocent and happy. Having no worries about the pain and suffering we go through. Why can't I be like that? Well, the answer is simple. Answers are never really good, but we still need to face them. We aren't ordinary 'people'. We lived for years until our deaths call for us. Countries live for centuries of suffering.

The worst part are bonds. Bonding with people may be one of the worst sins a country can commit. Humans don't last long, this was learned by my experience as a child.

He was a great friend. He always played with me and shared a book about flowers too. The book was filled with many exotic and beautiful flowers printed on each page. Despite the exotic and special flowers, he only wanted to find one. It was all the way at the end of the page, and little scribbles of writing were around it saying things like 'This is the best flower!' and even 'I'll find this flower someday!'.

It was a simple four to five indigo petaled flower.

I understood why he wanted to find it, and smiled. I declared that I'd find it one day and give it to him. He chuckled at my response and nodded. He said that once any of us find it we should meet back here.

And soon I started my search.

Years passed by and he didn't remember a thing about me. Once I found the flower, I was so happy. I visited the place we met, and waited. It was getting dark and England would be mad, but I wanted to give Davie his flower. I waited longer.

He was nowhere near sight, so I just thought he forgot to come. I walked back to the street and made my way home. I stared down at the flower in my hand and my vision blurred. Something isn't right. He said he'll meet me again. Why wasn't he there? He didn't lie to me right? He didn't leave me right? He didnt.... He didn't ..... Something warm slides down my cheeks, and my breathing quickens. I looked up from the flower and stand there wide-eyed. He was smaller before, but whenever I see him, he always changes. He grew... older. England told me about people growing older and changing. He said once death calls for them, they die. They're soul goes up, and continue peacefully. Leaving their shells behind here on earth.

Davie, he didn't die, right?

I shook my head from thought and looked around. I made it to the building, which looks like a hotel from the outside. With it's many windows, it really does. I didn't get lost, since I've been here countless times. But I was REALLY late. I chuckled a bit at my clumsiness and walked in.

"THE HERO IS HERE!!!!" I shouted my usual line and place the obnoxious grin on my face. The axis and other allies groaned and didn't even bother anymore. "Sit down America, why don't you. You're holding this meeting and you won't even bother showing up early. Honestly where did I go wrong with you?"

Shut it you selfish Brit

"Hehe, sorry Iggy!" I smiled, "I guess I didn't pay attention to the time." He rolled his eyes and muttered, "Of course you didn't." I walked to the front and stared at everybody. All those eyes on me, holding what seemed like hate, anger, and annoyance. Italy didn't seem to care about me and slept. Japan looked at me expecting something. At least he didn't hold any negative emotions.

The meeting ended quickly, with very little fights. As usual, England and France choking each other. Italy screaming 'Pasta' every now and then. Japan trying to sort things out. Germany rubbing his temples. Prussia shouting his 'Awesomeness.' Romano insulting people. China trying to sell treats to other nations. Russia sitting on Canada. Canada 'screaming' for help.

(Prussia and Romano are part of the axis)

Yep, the usual. I smiled at everybody's behaviour and gathered my stuff. We didn't cover much, but it's an improvment. I whistled normally and shoved papers in either my pocket or suitcase. Then, I realised everything was quiet.

I looked up and noticed the chaos stopped. What I didn't notice was their eyes of confusion.

"I see you've stopped fighting." I chuckled lightly. England stood up straight and asked, "America, why aren't you acting like.... yourself?" I hummed, a bit amused at his pathetic question. "And how do you expect me to be?" I looked around for an answer, until a certain rival spoke. "Well, you aren't carrying your usual stack of burgers. Or your usual attire. Or your little 'I'm the hero' declaration. You've only mentioned it when you burst in. It is rather weird, da~?" Russia looked around the room, expecting answers.

Nations nodded in fear and Russia was satisfied. "Well, I just thought it'd be nice to change myself a little bit, besides, this was a very interesting meeting, wasn't it? I was less of a bother to you nations, correct?" The nations looked at each other, pretty shook at what the conversation has become.

The tension rose and it became a bit unsettling. Italy whimpered a bit.

"Well, the next meeting will be schedualed this Wednesday. Still here in America. Rooms are already reserved in a hotel nearby. You should get there, your stuff would most likely be there already."

I grinned one last time and continued walking. Whistling the same tune as earlier before I was disturbed. Today sure was interesting. I'm really looking forward to this week.
