The loud banging noise could be heard, it was the clock, striking midnight. You gasped and sat up quickly, making your head spin from the sudden movement. You then rubbed your eyes. You could never hear the loud dong from the clock upstairs in your bedroom. A small night breeze whipped through the air, it made you feel cold and alone. But you didn't feel like that when you went to sleep, so, what could be the difference now?

The nutcracker! He was there with you when you fell asleep. He made you feel safe and warm, but where could he be now? You blink a few times, remember what had happened the past night. You got down from the couch, only to feel like it was a quite long distance from the couch to the ground. A large gasp escaped from your mouth. Either the everything was getting bigger, or you were getting smaller!

You looked at your body, your were right. You were shrinking to about the the size of a barbie doll. everything was so high up, it immensely intimidated to you. Your mind crowded with loud thoughts. You wanted to stay calm, but you just couldn't. You took a small breath and glanced around, maybe there was a way to get back to normal. That was when you saw something at the corner of your eye. You quickly turned around, fear striking your body. You slowly turned around, only to be amazed with what you saw. The toys were alive and moving around. Another (and bigger) gasp released from your mouth. You shuffled back in utter shock.

"Hello (Y/N)!" Sang three women with soft and princess peach like voice. You turned around to who trilled your name. They were three of your plastic ballerina dolls that your cousin had gotten you. One was purple, another light blue and then the last was pink. You never exactly wanted the dolls, but to make your cousin happy, you named them 'Dolly, Polly and Molly' it seemed matching since they were all the same design apart from the colours of their too-toos.

"Oh my goodness..." You took another step back, only to trip over your own foot and land backwards now the floor. It defiantly hurt so this couldn't be a dream.

Absolute horror filled your eyes. You looked around, the dolls and lights that hung in the tree flash and swung in excitement. You crawled back further away from the tree. "No no no.." your voice was brittle and high pitched. You shook you head and closed your eyes. 'This can't be happening!' You mentally screamed.

"Don't be afraid." A mellifluous and silvery voice uttered. You had a least bit of courage to open your eyes to see who was trying to calm you down, but you felt like you had to. You peaked from under your eyelids and then had no trouble widening them even more after what- or rather who you saw.

"My nutcracker!" You shrieked, having even more trouble finding the strength to stand up and run away.

The clean-cut wooden toy froze, his eyes wide with a blushing forming in his face. "A-Ah.. I suppose I am yours.." He pressed both of his index fingers together. "Here, let me help you up." He reaches his hand out for you to take and let him pull you up. You glanced up at him and the to his hand, he seemed to have good intentions...

He beamed at you with a dazzling smile. Almost making your heart melt, you smiled trustingly and placed your hand in his gently. He tightened the grip on your hand and pulled you up. You stumbled a little bit at the pull and placed your hand on his chest to fall on.

"Uhm.. Thank you." Your smile turned into nervous one as you pushed yourself off of him.

"No problem." He took a step back. You then glanced around, still shaken up but all the toys and dolls being alive, dancing around and also, why were you small again? "Oh. Right. You might want to have all of this explained to-" He stopped when he heard a scurrying noise. He turned away from you and looked around, standing in from of you, almost protectively. He placed his hand on the handle of the sword that rested in his scabbard. You stood back and looked around, copying the nutcrackers actions.

"Is something wro-" You immediately stopped talking when someone yanked on your arm and pulled you away from behind the nutcracker. You yelped and tried to struggle free from whatever was on your arm. "Help!" You bellowed.

The nutcracker whipped his head around quickly and his eyes widened immediately at what he saw. "Hey! Put her down!" He demanded. The man- or toy robot I should say, was holding up the squirming girl by the arm.

"Why should I?" He teased, swinging the you side to side. The man holding you had orange metal skin and blonde metal hair. Everything about him seemed mean and over exaggerated. "I'm Atlas! King of all of you! You should all bow to me!" He ordered. Yet no one bowed, they just stared at him in fear, it was like they were frozen in time. This angered the hell out of him. So much so that he threw you to the ground and told his guards to fight all the toys who did not bow to him.

You slid across the ground and hissed at the carpet burn and the pain of being thrown not so gently to the floor. "Ouch.." You mumbled. The nutcracker gasped once he saw how you had been treated and tried running over to you. Although, the robot king had seen him trying to get to you and he was about to strike the nutcracker with his own, larger sword, but that's when a rush of adrenaline pumped through your veins. You gasped and tackled the nutcracker to get him away from Atlas by rolling across the ground with him so you both could doge the sharp attack. The robot king had landed down with a thud and you were stuck down to the floor with the nutcracker atop you. He glanced over to the robot king and put together what had just happened. He then looked down at the maiden below him.

"Thanks.." He sighed in relief.

"No problem.." You replied, your cheeks starting to redden at the position you
both were in. The nutcracker then got off of you and stood up with his sword in hand. He walked over to the king and took the sword out of his sheath, placing the tip at the neck of Atlas. He looked up, terrified for his life. The other toys which followed him gasped, they saw their king was defeated. So they scurried away back where all came from. The king looked at his peasants running away a growled.

"I'll get you next time.. nutcracker." He then crawled back away from the nutcracker and ran out, back into the crack in the wall.

"You did it...!" You beamed, still a little on edge by everything. "You saved everyone!"

"Not without your help though.." He breathed. You grinned happily.

After a while, you and the nutcracker talked and introduced each other. After all that, you asked him how you were so small and he didn't know why.

"Is there anyway I could get back to normal?" You questioned.

"Maybe the sugar plum fairy could grant your wish to become your right size again." He blankly stated, thinking you already knew who this 'fairy' was.

"You lost me at sugar." You mumbled.

"The sugar plum fairy, she grants wishes and I'm sure she'll grant yours." Astro smiled a little.

"Fairy?" You cocked a brow up at Astro and then shrugged. "It's worth a try." You then looked through the crack in the wall where the broken down and gross toys came out from. "But I don't know the way.." You sighed.

"Don't worry. I'll take you." He placed a hand on your leg. "You saved my life after all. It's the least I could do." He smiled gently.

"Thank you." You flashed a gleaming smile. This was going to be quite a fun adventure.
