Hey, babe. I'm sorry about last night. Please call me back. I miss you

When she woke up that morning, Amanda had the intentions of breaking up with Dayne. But with the text he sent, she didn't know what to do. She missed him too. She wanted him back.

"Hey, Amanda," Harper smiled when she walked into the building. "Hey," Amanda replied. "I saw you at the bar yesterday. You seemed happy with your date." Harper rolled her eyes. "He's great in bed, and super cute. But he's not my type.

"How's your's?" Amanda groaned. "That bad," Harper asked, concern in her voice. Amanda nodded. "We always argue and fight, but we always get back together after." "You know, you could try to-" "Anna, come here."

Amanda turned to see Stella standing behind her, an ocean blue dress hugging her body. How long was she standing there? "You and I have been called into the main department. They are interested in you for some reason." She walked towards the elevator.

Harper and Amanda looked at each other. "Sorry she's such a jerk," Harper sighed. "Aren't you coming, Amber," Stella said, biting her nails. "Me too," Amanda whispered to Harper, then she ran to catch Stella.

Stella's perfume filled the elevator. Vanilla and sandlewood was in the air. Amanda found it intoxicating.

As soon as the doors opened, Amanda and Stella were greeted by two men. One of which was Emíle Breaux, a world famous doctor. He was dressed in a silver suit and tie, his hair neatly combed back. The other man was in a white shirt and blue blazer.

"Nice to finally meet you, Miss Cox," Emíle smiled. "This is my assistant, Basil." Basil smiled. "Nice to meet you." "You as well," Amanda said, shaking his hand.

"It's good to see you, Stella," Emíle said, dropping his smile. "It's always good to see me," she smirked.

Amanda gagged at the sight. Basil explained what was happening. "She's always flirting with him, despite of the fact that he is married. Every time he regects her, she gets snobby. Such a bitch."

Amanda chuckled at the word. She never heard anyone talk about Stella that way. Stella turned, making her stop.

"I'm just saying, she's desperate," Basil whispered when she turned back around. "Sadly the entire office knows." Amanda and Basil quietly laughed the rest of the way.

The four entered into a large conference room. An oval shaped table sat in the middle of it, chairs placed all around it. Light streamed in from the windows, making the grey colored room look huge.

A single seat was turned, its back facing them. It turned to reveal the company's founder and CEO, Francine Delucci.

She walks toward the group, her burgundy suit making her look elegant. Amanda watched in amazement. She always wanted to meet the famous scientist and engineer. She never knew she would be so beautiful.

"Nice to finally meet you, Mr Pierce and Miss Cox," Francine started. "Please take a seat." They sat, still entranced by the woman's presence.

"Since your assistance here, I personally took a look into your files. You both are very talented. You, Mr Pierce, with degrees in Philosophy and Neuroscience. And you, Miss Cox, with degrees in Biochemistry and Mechanical Engineering. That plus your work here forced me to make a final decision: You both are being promoted to supervisor."

Amanda and Basil stared at each other. Supervisor? Was she serious?

"Now wait a minute," Stella protested. "We can't just promote them like that. There has been plenty of others who worked has longer than them. They don't even qualify." Even though Amanda hated it, she agreed. What actually gave them the clearance?

"If I may," Emíle said, rising from his seat. "I believe that Basil is more than qualified. As my assistant, he showed himself to be more than valuable. His skills are fantastic and he is super intelligent."

Stella became upset. "Fine, Basil is, but not Amy. She barely does anything. She can't do simple tasks right. Who says she's qualified?"

"Her name is Amanda," Francine said sternly. "And I say she is. I hand picked every person in this building, even you. Did you really think she was just thown in here? Just because you have title and fame does not mean you can be an ass to everyone, Stella."

The model cowered under Francine's voice. Amanda was surprised at the sight. It was the first time she saw Stella truly shocked.

Francine straightened her jacket. "Now, if there aren't anymore objections." Stella looked into her lap. Francine nodded. "You, Basil and Amanda, are now over the new heads of the development department.

"Welcome to Atlantis."
