The envelope sealed itself back. "Wow," Amanda breathed. "I know," her boss said. "It's amazing, right?" "Too good to be true," Amanda whispered. "Do you want the position," he asked. "More than anything," she smiled. "Then pack your stuff, and go get that job."
Her former employer practically pushed her out of the office. Amanda went to her desk and found that everything was packed for her. Compliments and notes of good luck decorated the box. Amanda smiled and picked up the box, knowing that she will miss the place.
She entered into the apartment and saw Dayne in the bedroom. He never really worked, but he did benefit from his rich parents. "Who needs a job when your parents give everything you want," he often said.
Amanda kissed his head. "Surprise." Dayne looked at her, shocked. "I didn't expect you to be home until 6." "They let me off early," she shrugged. "10:30 is pretty early," he scoffed.
Amanda smiled gleefully. "I was offered a new position..." "That's great," Dayne grinned, putting his hands on her cheeks. "...at Atlantis Co.," she continued.
Dayne put his hands down. "Atlantis Co.?" Amanda nodded. "The Atlantis Co.?" She nodded once more. "Isn't it great," she said, clapping her hands together. "Yeah, sure," Dayne said sadly.
"What's wrong?" Dayne wrung his hands together. "Do you really want that job? I mean, honestly?" Amanda was confused. "I do. Aren't you happy for me?" "I am," he said, trying to smile. "It's just that I'm worried. I mean, do we even know anyone there?"
Amanda was annoyed. "Since when does knowing someone qualify for me working somewhere?" Dayne put his hands on her shoulders. "I don't want something bad happening to you. I want to know everyone who works there."
"What about you," she yelled, moving away from him. "I don't know any of your friends." "You know Richie," Dayne said defensively. "That's only because you talk to him on the phone all the time," she said, furiously throwing her hands in the air.
She stormed out of the room and sat on the couch. Dayne always disliked her jobs. When she first started to work at Innovation Nations, he protested against it. She had to let him meet her boss and coworkers in order for him to comply. Every time he said it was for her "safety".
Amanda felt a chin rest on the top of her head. "I'm sorry babe," Dayne apologized through her hair. "Do you really want to work there?" Amanda turned and looked at him. She put a hand on his cheek. "More than anything," she smiled. He took her hand and kissed the knuckles. "Then go get 'em."
She jumped from the couch and wrapped her arms around his neck. "Thanks," she smiled, gently kissing him. Dayne responded, picking her up and wrapped her legs around his waist. "How do you want to celebrate," he asked, knowing the answer.
Amanda grabbed the back of his neck. "I think you know how." One kiss led to another, each more passionate than the last. Dayne placed her on the bed, kissing down her neck. He hooked a finger under her blouse, pulling it over her head. She already felt her body flood with warmth.
He then slid her pants and shoes off of her body, leaving her panties and bra on. Amanda sat up, throwing his shirt over his head. "How do you want me," she smirked. Dayne gave his charming smile, the one that made her melt. "I want you naked."
In a flash, the rest of the barriers came off. The two laid there, one on top of the other. They exchanged delicate kisses and touches. "I need you," Amanda whispered, pulling him inside her. They moaned at the same time, throwing their heads back in ecstasy.
Dayne started slow, grinding his hips faster and rougher against her's. He kissed her neck, marking her. "Dayne," she moaned. "Me too," he replied breathlessly. "Dayne," she moaned louder. Soon, they both came undone. Their hair stuck to their faces, soaked with sweat. "I love you," Amanda told him. "I love you too," he told her back, kissing her.
The next day, Amanda went into Atlantis Co. as she was instructed. The building was as impressive as she thought. The outside of the building was decorated with flags from different countries. The walls of the building were made of shatterproof glass. Two fountains were on either side of the company, connected by a river. A bridge linked the entrance to the street, making the company more magical.
A woman sat at the receptionist table, answering phone calls. "Excuse me," Amanda asked her. The woman looked up, showing her best smile. "Hi," she said happily. "You must be Miss Amanda Cox. I'm Harper Knight."
The two shook hands. Harper walked out from behind the desk and put in an earpiece. A teal dress flowed with her. "I will give you the grand tour. And-" She looked over at Amanda, and held a giggle. "What," Amanda asked. "Nothing," Harper smiled, barely containing herself. "It's just that...well...I bet you had a great night."
Amanda didn't understand. She pulled out a mirror and saw what she meant: a huge hickey on her neck. "Fuck," she sneered. She attempted to cover it. Why didn't Dayne tell her? "Hey, don't sweat it," Harper told her, putting a hand on her shoulder. "No one will notice. It's not that big."
Amanda nodded and continued on the tour. The inside of the building was as impressive as ever. The departments were separated by levels. "This is the Media department," Harper said when she showed her the third floor. "And this is your desk." She pointed to a large cubicle with the latest technology.
Amanda couldn't contain her excitement. "This is amazing," she smiled. Harper looked at the papers on her clipboard. "Your supervisor will be...Stella Espin." "Stella Espin," Amanda asked, surprised. "The Stella Espin? The world famous model?" "The one and only," Harper chuckled. "Quick warning, though: don't fangirl over her. She doesn't like it from employees." Amanda nodded. "'Don't fangirl'. Got it!"
After the tour, Amanda went home. Her heart sang a happy tune. "How was the meeting," Dayne asked her, furiously playing a game. "It was great," she smiled. "I found out I'm working with Stella Espin."
"The Espin," Dayne asked. She nodded, sitting on the couch next to him. "I'll be her assistant. Supposedly, with my degrees, I'll be helping with the science side of media." "I'm proud of you," Daune said, kissing her forehead. Amanda smiled. She was proud of herself. Her dreams were finally coming true. What could ruin it?
