Lafayette POV
Clovis and I start to walk back to my room a few doors down. Clovis grabs my hand and squeezes it as we continue down the hall. I knock on the door and step inside the dorm room. I see John huddled over some papers on the kitchen table. I faintly hear Hercules snoring and Alexander typing away on his computer.
John looks up from his textbook and greets us.
"Hey, Laf. Who's this you got here?"
"John, this is Clovis. My..." I pause, wondering if he's really my boyfriend or not.
"Boyfriend," Clovis finishes for me as I breathe a sigh of relief. That was stressful.
"Oh," John says. "Cool."
"Who ya talking to, John?" Alex asks, walking into the room. I'm surprised he doesn't have any coffee in his hand. Maybe John knocked some sense into him. Alex turns in our direction as if he has finally noticed us. "Oh hey, Laf! Is this Clovis?"
"At your service," Clovis says, bowing.
"Humorous and a gentleman. I approve, Laf."
"I'm glad you do, Alex," I say, remembering how upset Hercules was.
"Hey, don't let him get to you, Laf."
"I don't try to."
"Is everything okay, Laffy?" Clovis questions.
"Yeah, it's fine."
"If you want to talk, I'm always here you know," he whispers in my ear.
"Thank you, Clovis."
"No problem," he says, smiling at me. He then looks down at his watch and his eyes widen.
"Oh crap, I gotta go back to the dorm. Sorry, Laf. Love you!"
And with that Clovis runs out the door and down the hall.
"Well, bye then."
"He seemed nice," Alex says, closing the door as Clovis did not.
"Oui, il est tres gentil."
Alex nods, leaning against the kitchen table.
"Alex, I can't remember this thing," John whines.
Alex turns to John and helps him study. Feeling unwanted, I head to my room and am surprised to find Hercules still awake reading a book. He looks up at me and smiles.
"Hey, Laf. How was your date?"
"It was good, thanks for asking."
"Hey, I'm sorry for being a jerk the last few days, I really don't know what happened."
"I accept your apology," I say, sitting on my bed and taking Clovis' sweatshirt off. I should really return this.
"It's not really in my nature to be a jerk, and I don't want to put someone down because of something stupid," Hercules says.
(I FREAKING HATE SCHOOL AAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH)
(excuse my mini rant)
"Non, mon ami, it's really fine."
"So how's school going?"
"It's going well, but I have lots of homework to do."
"Oh. I never see you work on it at home. Did you do it already?"
"No, I do it in the morning before class."
He stares at me. "When on earth do you have your classes?"
