It's been over a year since Grace passed. Poor Charlie has started to ask for her again. I too am guilty of asking for my Grace back and dreaming of her but I have come to terms that she will never come back. As of now, another beauty had invaded my thoughts. I was captivated by her.
I couldn't afford to be distracted by a pretty woman. I'm a businessman and I know when there's time for business and time for pleasure.
I sat in my office having a smoke as I pondered about the enchanting Selina Rosell. I was trying to figure out how a woman could have so much control over so many men. She was a mysterious and fascinating woman. One I couldn't quite figure out yet.

"Tommy, I need to talk to you about some business" Polly said as she burst into my office.
" What's the matter?" I asked as I sat up in my chair.
" Sabini has taken some of our men. Apparently, his people heard them talking about the expansion in a bar. They were beaten in front of a crowd before they were taken away"
" Who could've possibly told them?"
" Who knows, they must've heard about your meeting with Selina. I told you she's nothing but trouble." Polly explained but before I could shoot back an answer Arthur came in.
" Tommy, there's a bunch of men at the warehouse," Arthur announced as he came into the office.
" How many?" I asked curiously.
" Almost 50 maybe more"
" I'll have to come and see that"
" I'll have Finn get the car," Arthur said before he left me and Polly alone once again.
" You said it didn't go through," Polly said referring to our conversation yesterday after meeting Selina.
" No, I said we'll see tomorrow"
" You shouldn't have done that deal with her, Tommy. She's an outsider and a danger to this family. You saw what just meeting with her has done"
" How? Tell me how is she and how you know this?"
" I've had a bad feeling about her ever since I saw her."
" She seems trustworthy enough"
"Tommy, what happened to you listening to me? To me being your counsel?"
" You are my counsel. I just may or may not follow it" I said as I poured myself a drink.
" I can't believe you. You can't be fucking serious!"
"Polly, it's done. We're allies now, get over it"
"You're making a mistake" she warned as she approached me.
" Have this, maybe it'll wash down whatever the fuck is wrong with you" I said as I passed her the drink that I intended for myself.
I headed out to the car to drive to the warehouse along with Arthur to meet our new recruits.
" Told you it was a bunch," Arthur said as I examined the lot of them. Selina really came through with the men.
" Selina really did her part"
" Mr.Shelby, Selina sends her regards" The man who greeted us at her office before had said.
"Too bad she couldn't bless us with her presence," Arthur said.
" She sent 55 men including me," the man said.
" How thoughtful of her"
" She keeps her promises"
" She sure does. What's your name?"
" Joey, sir"
"Well Joey, let's get you and your men to work"

The day was long and hard for the new recruits. We were able to get stuff done without any complications. Out of the kindness of my cold black heart, I allowed the men a free drink in the garrison.
It's quite entertaining to see men go crazy for a bloody drink. I watched them in their natural habitat as I savored my own drink and a smoke.

" Kimber never gave us a free drink or sent us off like this" one of the drunken recruits said as others around him listen.
" What do you mean sent us off ?" I questioned.
" Most of the men who worked for Kimber went to Selina after his death. She was said to have slept with him and all his friends to gain power. A whore with power can be dangerous as we all can see" the man said causing others around him to laugh.
I instantly smashed my glass on his head causing some of the men to stop laughing while others continued on their drunken venture. The man lay unconscious on the ground with slight bleeding from his head.
" Is there anyone else who wishes to share?"
" Good," I said with a nod before I wandered off into the night wondering why I reacted in such a way.
Why did his words offend me so much? It must have been the alcohol. I'm curious as to know why she didn't think to tell me about her history with Kimber.
