I remember you for your patience

your soft-spokenness and silence.

Bearing up under lifes strains,

this once it became too many,

and you simply left

I greeted you sadly at your deathbed

I did not want to let you go

Somehow I felt cheated out of really knowing you,

but I knew it was time and you had to leave.

Gods beckoning was almost audible in your silence.

Good bye Grandpa, it has been a privilege.
