CHAPTER TWO: ANNUAL REPORTS
+++
"Hey Lily,"
A voice chimes as the door for the ladies opened and a head popped in. I look through the bathroom mirror to see who the voice belonged to. Delilah, a member who I worked with. She flashed me a smile and said,
"Adrian's waiting for you,"
I nod, knowing that I couldn't hide from him any longer. I shake off the remaining water off my hands and dry them with two pieces of tissue before discarding them in the bin. She holds the door for me as I walk alongside her, a comfortable talk taking place,
"Any ideas on why he needs to see me?"
She shrugs,
"I've got no clue but I've heard that he's been doing something for Mr King. An internal favor from the looks of it. Rumor has it that Mr King set a deadline for two weeks,"
I ponder in thought, Delilah continues,
"From what I've heard, Adrian's one of Mr King's closest friends,"
I stop in my tracks and stare at her,
"Adrian? Mr King's close friend. No way in hell. I just about wonder everyday how he got that title of being a manager,"
"It's true. Apparently they were high school friends. There's three of them. Mr King, Adrian and Ace. I'm sure I've heard from someone that they're all close,"
I nod, not wanting to speak anymore of the man who I had no clue of what he looked like. You want to though, you want to see him. The voice chants. I turn to face her,
"Have you ever seen Mr King or Ace?"
A lazy smile makes way on her red stained lips,
"Who hasn't. Even though Mr King is seen as ruthless and harsh his looks contradict him. He's sent from the heavens above. No wonder why he's ranked in the top three for being the most breathtaking and handsome bachelor at the age of twenty-seven,"
I bite my lower lip still listening,
"Not only that but he own King Enterprise. He's got it all. The full package. Looks, money, financially stable job. You name it, he's got it. Funnily enough Ace is no less. I've only seen him a few times around the company and man, he's just a sex god walking in plain sight,"
I question rhetorically,
"That good looking huh?"
"Very good looking indeed. If he asked for a hook-up I'd happily comply,"
"Ew,"
I say with a shake of my head. She drops the topic quickly,
"And then there's Adrian, who we all know. How he made it into that bubble with Mr King is beyond me,"
A small laugh escapes my lips as she ends her talk about them, finally reaching the office where everyone was working. I take a seat at my desk and come to see my reflection at the small mirror that I had placed beside my screen.
I was like every other young adult; wavy, chestnut brown hair and hazel brown eyes that matched. I was twenty-five, the aim in life at the moment being to earn a living so I could find the one who make my heart beat irrationally and live happily ever after.
My thoughts did a one-eighty turn, going back to Mr King. The itch to know him slowly becoming harder to get rid of. From the four months that I've worked here, the impression that I got of him was that he simply had it all and there was nothing stopping him from achieving more.
