CHAPTER FIVE: FURY
+++
It's amazing how we associate colors with our everyday emotions and how we adapt from it based on what we identify. You've got blue for sadness, green for disgust, yellow for joy, purple for anxiety and red for anger.
Right now, the emotion that I'm going through is pure, blazing red.
Everything that I was able to see in eyesight was portrayed in red. The black sleek building was now a deep dark red, the glass doors also red... and so was Adrian. He was the reason of it all. The reason for my sufferings. The reason for me seeing red.
I grit my teeth as I marched my way inside the company. I push the doors open with force, grabbing Eleanor's attention. I take note that she's taken back by my appearance but I couldn't care less.
Today was my tipping point and it was all Adrian who made me overflow. My anger won't go until I throw a tantrum at him,
"Where the fuck is Adrian?"
I demand as soon as I'm stood in front of her. Her fingers stop typing as she looks up through her lashes. Her eyes then shift uneasily between me and her computer. Thank god she hadn't asked what happened because frankly I didn't know what to answer.
I could still feel the incident from before, slithering it's way back to mind. She replied slowly like she was finding the correct words to say,
"Erm... er... he's on the 30th fl-"
She tries to finish off her sentence but stops, realizing that I'm no longer in front of her but now heading over to the elevator. I was beyond glad that she didn't question anything else. I would've exploded for sure.
Not wanting to direct my anger at anyone, I choose the elevator button instead. Pressing as many times I could picturing that it was Adrian himself. A few minutes pass when the doors open, mentally dancing since it was vacant.
I stepped inside, the doors closing shortly after. Now that I was in a confined place I parted my lips and let out a sigh, the anger I once had disappear a little. I reach out and press the number '30' feeling the elevator move upwards.
My hand rests on my hip and I close my eyes, taking in another deep breath. I try not to get angry but it was the only thing in mind. I tilt my head back trying my hardest to forget what happened but let's be real, it won't be leaving any time soon.
I tilt my head back to normal and open my eyes, coming in view to see myself in the reflection of the elevator doors; and honestly... What the actual fuck happened to me?
My mouth drops open upon seeing my now unprofessional state. The top two button of my pastel purple blouse was undone. One of which no longer had a button on. My black skinny jeans had marks of god knows what and my hair...
My hair was a clear definition of a birds nest. Strands of hair poked out from all directions from my already messy bun. I extend my hand out, ready to fix my hair at least to look presentable but don't as the doors open, revealing a white, large and spacious opening.
Two doors were positioned at the end of the room. Eyes scanning I see a receptionist positioned halfway into the open place. She doesn't notice me as she types away on her keyboard, looking no older than being in her early thirties. She looked young for her age with deep red hair.
I step out of the elevator, the sound of my shoes grabbing her attention. My brown eyes meet her ocean blue eyes. She flashes me a kind smile before her eyes look me from head to toe, a questioning look now plastered on her face.
