The Girl Who Loves Me

But I got one good detail out of the so called madness I was the witness to a moment before. My eyes opened from the trauma in my head as I felt as if veins were popping off.

" Aria. Aria Aurora" I felt myself smile when I snapped from my memory lane. She had a look of pride while Jeamie was plain worried about me. Who wouldn't be if someone just downright got knocked out?

" Finally. So, Kytte? Remember anything else or just my name?" She queried, the pride still seeping from the sides of her mouth. I paused for a moment, thinking if I should say what I saw to her or not.

Because that was centuries ago but she looked not so different. Only a couple of years took it's toll on her, showing themselves in slight streaks of grey in her hair.

Why not? She might be the only other human we could meet for who knows how long?

" Earth" I said, my voice low enough that only Aria could hear it and not my sister who was freaking out.

Her eyes twitched and it filled with grief and tears held on the corner of her eyes as she seemingly locked eyes with me again as I wondered if she was going to kiss me again but she just tugged poor old me and rubbed my face as if I was the one that needed comfort.

Am I?

After a few seconds of silence, she whispered in my ear," The Aegir is still out there"

That was a relief to me at least. And that was the entire week gone, just like that.

That night, I had to sneak out to do some snooping when the pack left. Probably cause I wanted some fresh air or that I was desperate to return to my space family. Turns out someone else had the same idea.

" What are you doing here?" Aria called out.

" I could say the same" I responded with another question to avoid responding with an answer I wasn't so sure of.

" You really don't remember what happened, do you? I can enlighten you. For a price, that is." She offered. She said it so calmly that my mouth wanted to scream yes but I tried to avoid the yelling, since Jeamie was asleep.

I've had enough on my platter just as it is.

It's kinda stupid that I thought it that time as the plating was soundproof and a grenade exploding sends not so much as a boom reach inside.

Oh well...

Reluctantly, I agreed. " Alright. Have it your way. What did happen?" I looked at Aria, who now gestured me to sit beside her, by gently spanking the grass.

" The long story or the short recap, Jason?"

" The short one please. I don't think I can handle any more for a few days..." I said with a voice of slight shame.

After I did, she gave a small laugh and laid her back to mine and started a not so boring history lesson of sorts.

" It all started when all the vegetation started dying in the original Earth as the carbon emission flew off the charts. All the countries, well, the major ones who saw the reasons that it could not be replenished, joined forces started two projects." She shifted her head to lean against mine, almost slipping.

" Project Armageddon" She pointed up her index. " Along with Project Aether. Named after the Greek god of light and air." Followed by her middle finger.

" But I guess we were probably infants when that happened to be planned though" She let out a chuckle on the thought.

Then, she re-positioned herself to a more position for her before going back into story time.
