EJ breathed in the freezing, cold air as she shoveled the snow off the walkway. It had snowed all night.

"Yeah," she said to herself, her breath came out in thick puffs as she exhaled. "This is going to take some time getting used to. But it's a fun change."

When she was done, EJ put the shovel away in the shed and went for a walk. But she hadn't gotten more than six feet away from the house. She shivered and ran back inside the house.

An hour later the doorbell rang. EJ went to answer it. A cold gust of wind blew into the house as she let the two, unexpected visitors in to get warm.

"Is Mrs. Clark in?" asked a familiar voice.

EJ couldn't believe it, but as the two figures revealed themselves she knew it was real. There, standing in front of her, were Harry and Louis. They didn't seem to recognize her, but EJ knew that she had changed over the year. Her brown hair was longer than it was the last time she saw them, and she now had blue highlights. Not to mention that she was all bundled up.

"I'm afriad she's not in at the moment," EJ said, speaking with a British accent, just to how they'd react. "She's being moved to an elderly's home. I'm watching over the house until everything is settled."

"Are you her granddaughter?" Louis asked, he seemed to be studying her.

"No," she replied, taking off her coat, which was probably a risk on her behalf. "I'm a friend of her daughter's."

Harry looke at her wrist for a long time, he was looking at the bracelet. A spark of recognition flashed across his face as he smiled.

"Ella!" he exclaimed as he grabbed her in a tight hug.

Louis joined the hug, EJ was laughing.

"You're squashing me!" she said, laughing even harder as they squeezed her tighter briefly.

"Sorry," they said, chuckling as they released her.

"I've missed you guys," she went on as they went to sit in the living room.

"Harry's missed yo-" Louis said, Harry gave him a hard shove. "Well, it's true!"

"So, how long are you here?" Harry asked, grinning unbearably.

"Until the middle of February," EJ replied, smiling at the floor. "So, why were you looking for Mrs. Clark?"

"She called last week and invited us over," Louis explained as he took off his shoes. "She told us to come today."

"And now it appears that we might be stuck here," Harry added, looking at Louis with slight disgust. "The snow is really coming down out there-" he stood and went to a window "-I live right across the street and can't even go back because it's so cold."

The phone rang on the table next to the sofa. EJ answered it.

"Hello," she said, "Clark residence."

"EJ," came Miranda's voice. "Mum has just remembered that she had invited two of her neighbors over for the day. An- She wants to speak with you."

"Darling," said Mrs. Clark, "please forgive my incosideration. But I invited my young neighbor and his friend, Louis, to come over and keep you company. Only while Miranda is here fussing over me."

"They're here," EJ said, smiling to herself.

"Yes, and it appears there is a blizzard coming. So the lads will have to stay for the time being. Miranda will be here with me, due to matters of circumstance."

"Oh, Mum!" EJ heard Miranda say. "You're just as crazy as Granddad was!"

"Don't worry Mrs. Clark," EJ laughed, "I shall be the perfect hostess."
