Seth's POV

Violated? The whole picture comes together, the marks, her being naked, everything.
This was obviously a werewolf attack, he probably raped her and then mauled her, leaving her for dead.
But why? That's the only part that I can't make sense of, Werewolves are generally a peaceful breed, they have rules and regulations to protect the human race, and seeming I found her right outside of sanctuary... why would a werewolf try to murder somebody from their own safety compound?

I wait a moment for her to walk away before following behind, I can hear her sobbing softly behind the closed door.

"Hey are you okay?"

The sobbing stops and she calls back to me in a weak and shaky voice.

"Yes, I'm sorry I ran off like that, I just have a lot on my mind, that's all."

"I kind of figured that, I mean I found you barely alive."

"Hey, I appreciate you helping me, but I've already given you more information that you needed to know, just promise me you won't ask questions, because even if you do, I can't answer them."

I couldn't help but to grin, she thinks I'm human, she thinks I'm oblivious to all of it, and I'm perfectly okay with that, if she's from sanctuary, than I'm sure she's terrified of vampires, and rightfully so, even standing behind this door I grow weak, breathing her in, her scent is like nothing I've ever experienced.

"I won't pry, I promise, but I do have one question for you if you don't mind, what's your name?"

"Catharine, what's yours?"

"My name is Seth."

"Seth." She repeats my name back to herself in a soft and inquisitive voice.

"Well Seth, it's nice to meet you."

"It's a pleasure to meet you as well Catharine."

I stand there silent for a while, taking conscious note of her scent once again, I've met rare blood types before, but she is something else, her scent is stronger, sweeter, like a mature gardenia or an aged wine.
A story comes to mind, one I've always thought was fictional, but her scent gives life to it, an elder vampire known as Marcellus told me it when I travelled to France in 1915.
A child by the name of Aphra was born in 1657 in London, her father a vampire, her mother a human, this combination usually creates half breeds whom are either weak as vampires or average humans.
But Aphra was special, she became a rare vessel, known as a feeder, if a vampire fed on her the venom would rush into her body, but instead of turning her, it would make her an immortal human, or more specifically, if she was fed on for the first time at twenty, she would continue to age, but the next time she was fed on, her body would revert back to twenty, any wound or scars would heal instantly, and her blood supply would never run dry.

This was a beautiful gift, or so it seemed, shortly after she turned 22, she was kidnapped into the vampire slave trade, her life became nothing but supplying either blood or sex to various vampire clans.
At the official age of 40, but yet still as young and beautiful as a 20 year old, Aphra took her life.

The story has it that the high elder of the vampire agency is still in search of a feeder, mix breeding left and right to find one, but the search has ran empty, and the story is nothing more than a fairytale to most of us.
But what if Catharine was a feeder? It would make perfect sense as to why she was in sanctuary, seeming my kind would be murdered on sight if I ever entered.
And if she is one, I will have to fight like hell to keep her safe, if she goes back to sanctuary she's in trouble by the hand of the wolves, and if she goes out into the world she'll be taken as a slave immediately.
